Hey there, y’all! Let’s talk about them 1970s movies, you know, the pictures they showed back in the day. I ain’t no fancy movie expert or nothin’, but I remember some of them flicks, and they were somethin’ else.
The 1970s, that was a time when movies got real different. They weren’t all goody-two-shoes stuff no more. They started showin’ all sorts of things, some of it a bit much if you ask me, but hey, that’s how it was. They called it New Hollywood, they say. Sounded fancy, but it just meant they weren’t afraid to get a little wild with their stories.
Now, I can’t tell you the names of all them hundred greatest movies or whatever, like them smart folks online do. But I do recollect some of the big ones. You had Star Wars, that space thing with the robots and the laser swords. Everybody and their brother was talkin’ ’bout that one. And then there was Jaws, the shark movie that scared the bejesus outta folks. Made ’em afraid to go in the water, I tell ya.

- Jaws – A big ol’ shark that liked to munch on people.
- The Godfather – Some kinda family business, but not the kind you wanna be in.
- Taxi Driver – A fella drivin’ around in a city, things gettin’ kinda crazy.
And let’s not forget The Godfather movies. Them was long, but they had folks hooked. All about family and whatnot, but not the kind of family you’d wanna have over for Sunday dinner, if you catch my drift. And that Taxi Driver fella, he was a piece of work, drivin’ around in that city, gettin’ into all sorts of trouble.
Them movies back then, they weren’t afraid to show the bad stuff. Violence, cussin’, and all that. Not like the clean-cut stuff they used to show. It was a different time, I guess. People wanted somethin’ different, somethin’ real, even if it was a little rough around the edges.
Movie trivia, huh? Well, I can tell you this, they made movies different back then. No fancy computer stuff, most of it was real, ya know? Like them car chases, they actually crashed them cars! Can you believe it? Nowadays, they just do it all on a computer screen, ain’t the same if ya ask me.
And them movie lines, oh boy, some of them you just can’t forget. Like, “May the Force be with you,” from Star Wars. Everybody was sayin’ that for years. Or that “You talkin’ to me?” from Taxi Driver. Creepy, but it stuck with ya.
They had all kinds of movies back then, not just the big blockbusters. They had them love stories, them comedies, them scary movies. Something for everyone, I guess. But the ones I remember most are the ones that made you think, the ones that stayed with you long after you left the theater.
I reckon if you wanna test your knowledge on 1970s movie trivia, you gotta go online. Them young folks know all about it. They got them quizzes and all that. But for me, I just remember what I remember. The feelin’ I got when I watched them movies, the stories they told, the characters I met.
1970s movie history is interesting, they say it was a tough time for Hollywood at first, money was tight and all. But then, bam! They started makin’ these amazing movies. It was like a whole new world opened up. They could show things they couldn’t show before, talk about things they couldn’t talk about before. It was somethin’ special, I tell ya.
So, yeah, the 1970s, that was a golden age for movies, far as I’m concerned. They weren’t perfect, mind you, but they were real. They told stories that mattered, stories that made you feel somethin’. And that’s more than you can say for a lot of them movies they make nowadays.

Classic movie lines, yeah they had some good ones. Folks still say em today you know. Like “Here’s looking at you, kid.” Wait, was that the 70’s? Heck, I don’t know, maybe that was earlier. See, I told ya I ain’t no expert. But the 70s had their own good lines, like I said before.
Anyway, if you want a good time, watch some of them old 70s movies. Some are good, some are bad, some are just plain weird. But they’ll show you a different time, a different way of makin’ movies. And that’s worth somethin’, ain’t it?
