Great cast, good movie!
It's not even Black History Month (it's November 17, 2024 11:17PM), so here you go.
The South lost the battle over slavery, but not the war. The "Reconstruction Era" was the South's reconstructing, redesigning slavery, making it look different, hance the need for Sit-Ins, Marches, Protests, White-Only water fountains, schools, businesses, buses segregated. Whites got tired of murdering their own and seeing their own return with missing limbs and so on, so they returned their pent-up anger over the "Negro" with Jim Crow laws, lynchings and other horrors bc yts have not developed much past coming out of caves and walking upright. They have not grown, learned, developed. Racism and segregation are the only things that yts can contribute to the human society.
As I watch this movie and think about Palestine, I see ppl who pass and hide as yts committing a genocide, a holocaust against another group of people and they are supported by other yt ppl who foster and nurture the inhuman/inhumane behavior. And it will go on and on bc in this instance, the ones causing the genocide, having supposedly been "victims" of a past genocide/holocaust have gotten a taste for genocide and have become perpetrators in place of "survivors." They were given land taken from the inhabitants and instead of being grateful chose to illegally settle and occupy (encroach upon) areas not theirs and established open prisons (aka concentration camps) and when the inhabitants protested and revolted (over the years), they were treated by the slave owners of the past who blamed the "insurrectionists," the slaves for the cause of the revolt (October 7, 2023) rather than look at themselves.
This is my take on the movie, you take from it what you will.
Tim Robbins name on it I know its going to be a good movie 🍿🎥❤
