17. Also, not explained is why he is making that contraption. It doesn't look like a farm implement. Maybe he saw ALIEN and figured he could make something better? Apparently, there just happened to be a lot of scrap steel laying around and vintage welding and cutting equipment was stored in the barn along with a nice supply of full Acetylene tanks, hydraulic hoses and proper fittings, etc., etc. . .

18. In the scene where he is leaving home on his birthday, something isn't right – was a segment cut out?
    I could have written a better scene: After Jack puts on his coat, his mum says, "Jack, you haven't even tasted you birthday cake!" She runs in the house and while Jack is walking away, his Mum comes out holding the cake in both hands. She starts to run after him, "JACK!", and gets about 6 feet from him. Then she trips and the cake flies out of her hands and sails in the air toward Jack. Jack turns around and as he starts to yell, "WHAT" – the cake hits him in the face – SPLAT! He gets his taste! Then, Jack's step dad says, "Now you have your cake and you can eat it, too!"

29. Someone wasn't thinking when they made this! The timeline does not work. If she had been there since a little girl that would mean that she had been there for likely at least 7 thousand years here, no cameras here back then for a picture of her mother and she as well as the animals would have turned to dust once here. It doesn't work.
