Well, let me tell ya ’bout them movie places in Schenectady, New York. It ain’t as fancy as them big cities, but we got places to watch them pictures, you know?

First off, you got yer Rotterdam Square Cinema. Heard tell it’s over on Campbell Road. Can’t miss it, they say. Big ol’ building, I reckon. Now, I ain’t been there myself, my old bones ain’t up for much travelin’ these days. But the young’uns, they go there all the time. Say they got all the new movies, the ones with all the explosions and such.

Then there’s this Bow Tie Cinemas Movieland 6. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Bow Tie, like them fellas wearin’ them fancy suits. Don’t know why they call it that, but that’s what they say. They got movies there too, but I ain’t sure what’s playin’. You gotta check them showtimes, they call ’em. Like a schedule, but for movies. Confusin’ if ya ask me.

  • Rotterdam Square Cinema: Big place, lots of movies. Good for the young’uns.
  • Bow Tie Cinemas Movieland 6: Fancy name, movies too. Gotta check them showtimes.

Now, findin’ these places ain’t too hard, I hear. You can look ’em up online, they say. Fandango, they call it. Sounds like a dance, but it ain’t. It’s somethin’ on that there internet thingy. Tells ya where the movies are playin’ and when. Handy, I guess, if you know how to use it. Me, I just ask the grandkids.

And talkin’ ’bout prices, well, movies ain’t cheap these days. Heard tell they cost more than ten dollars now! Ten dollars! Back in my day, you could get a whole meal for that kinda money. But I guess that’s just how things are now. They say Tuesdays are cheaper, somethin’ ’bout ticket savin’s. And if ya go durin’ the week, before five o’clock, it’s even cheaper. But who’s got time to go to the movies before five o’clock? Most folks are workin’ then.

Schenectady got other places too, I reckon. They say there’s movies over near Colonie Center, in Albany. That’s a bit of a drive, but some folks go there. Regal, they call it. Sounds like a king’s place, all fancy and such. And then there’s movies down in South Schenectady too. Seems like movies are everywhere these days. Can’t escape ’em, even if ya wanted to.

Now, if you’re lookin’ for movies in a certain place, like zip code 12301 or 12309, they say you can search for that too. On that Fandango thing, I guess. Or maybe on that Google thingy. I don’t know, it’s all too complicated for me. But the young’uns, they know how to do it. They can find anythin’ on them computers.

So, there ya have it. A little somethin’ ’bout them movie theaters in Schenectady. Not much to it, really. Just places to watch them pictures. But folks seem to like ’em. Gives ’em somethin’ to do, I guess. Me, I’d rather stay home and watch the birds. But that’s just me.

Anyways, if you’re lookin’ for a movie, go on and check them places out. Just remember to bring yer wallet, ’cause it ain’t cheap. And don’t forget to check them showtimes, so you don’t miss the beginnin’. And maybe bring a sweater, ’cause them theaters can get mighty cold.

That’s all I got to say ’bout that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed the chickens.
