Alright, let’s talk about this here climbin’ movie thing, the, uh, “Climbing Film Tour”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? They say it’s back for its 5th go-around, which I guess means they been doin’ this for a spell. Seems like they got a whole bunch of short movies about folks climbin’ rocks all over the world. Them rock climbers, they’re a wild bunch, I tell ya.

Now, I ain’t never climbed nothin’ higher than a haystack myself, but I reckon these movies show you what it’s like. They talk about it bein’ a “unique platform” for climbers and… well, whoever else likes watchin’ folks hang off cliffs. Makes ya wonder why they’d wanna do that, but hey, to each their own, right?

  • They got all sorts of movies, I hear.
  • One’s about some girl named Molly, and her “roller coaster journey” up somethin’ called Crank-It.
  • Sounds like a bumpy ride, if you ask me.

This here “Climbing Film Tour” used to be called somethin’ else, somethin’ about “Vertical Life.” Guess they figured “Climbin’ Film Tour” was easier to say, which, you know, makes sense. Keep it simple, that’s what I always say. No need for big words when you can just say what you mean.

They show these movies in theaters, fancy ones, like that Astor place in Melbourne. You gotta buy tickets, of course. They had some kinda early bird deal, but that’s probably gone now. So, you’ll have to pay full price, I reckon. Still, if you’re into watchin’ folks dangle from ropes, it might be worth it.

I seen some pictures on that, uh, “Insta-gram” thing my grandkid showed me. Epic climbin’, they call it. Folks hangin’ off big ol’ rocks, sometimes just by their fingertips. Gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinkin’ about it. But these young folks, they ain’t scared of nothin’, I guess. They got films showin’ all sorts of climbin’, from all over the world, they say. Must be somethin’ to it if so many people are into it.

So, this here “Climbing Film Tour,” it’s a big deal for these climbin’ folks. A way for them to show off, I guess, and for other folks to see what they do. It’s like a celebration, they say, of the “global climbing community.” Sounds like a whole lot of people who like hangin’ off rocks, if you ask me.

Now, I don’t know much about movies, or climbin’ for that matter, but I can tell you this: if you like seein’ pretty pictures and watchin’ folks doin’ things you’d never dream of doin’ yourself, then this here “Climbing Film Tour” might just be for you. Just don’t expect me to go hangin’ off no cliffs anytime soon. I’m perfectly happy keepin’ my feet on solid ground, thank you very much.

Anyways, I reckon if you’re the type that likes adventure movies, go check it out. They have tickets you have to buy, maybe if you missed the discount maybe ask someone that knows about those computer things to search around for cheaper tickets. It sounds like something for you young folks. Me? I’ll stick to my stories and watching the birds fly, least they have wings meant for that. But those mountain climbers, they give me a bit of worry, but they must be having fun up there, just like some of us get a kick out of different things. It’s a big world out there, and people sure have funny ways of having fun. I’m sure they have their reasons and if they like hanging around on big rocks I say go for it. They have it every year, so if you cant make it to one in 2025 just keep your ears open for the 2026 one, or whatever number they go up to.

I saw pictures of them folks hangin’ from mountains, like real mountains! They must train for that right? I don’t know why they do that, seems risky to me. But I also heard that you can meet those climbers, so if you’re into meeting them, maybe go meet them and ask them how they do it. It’s a whole big thing, so if you ask someone in the city that’s into that type of thing, I’m sure they would know.
