  1. And if you are into music, the bay area metal band "Laaz Rockit" performs a song about this story, with the same name. Pretty cool

  2. 20:44 – “ they {Tigers} would not survive in this Climate….” B.S. 💩 right there.. They survive through Siberian Winters in Eastern Russia & as well as the Extreme Heat of India, Nepal, & Bangladesh..😅😂😂

  3. I just finished watching the original 1932 version, with Fay Wray and Joel McCrea. I'm expecting this one to be good, as well, especially since Bruce Dern is in it.
I remember well the last line of the book: "Rainsford had never slept in a more comfortable bed."

  4. Four questions: one, an importing ship goes to the island that has a bad reputation? No hesitation? No suspicions? Nothing? Just comes and goes? Two, why would Wolf send Ivan after Sanger? I thought he himself enjoyed the challenge of the hunt. Which also makes it weird that he would end Marcus and Rex before the hunt. 3. I still don't understand. Wolf never knew about Ben's shelter? Never ever saw it? 4. Was it a reef or the shore that wrecked the ship?

  5. Pretty Bad. I always liked Casper Van Dein, but he always seemed willing to be in any old piece of junk that came along. This is very poorly written and acted. How does a rifle not sink to the bottom of the sea? Hey, there's a trunk full of ammo right next to it, thank your lucky stars. Hey, we'll be safe in this fully stocked shelter. It's inland, so the killer will never think of it. We're safe here. Yikes. There is even a comment in here from some kid saying a teacher is making the class watch this? Why? It's total fiction nonsense. Very scary, teachers are using this for anything other than a very good reason to stop watching the tube and go out and ride a bicycle or something. It's like candy for the brain. It will rot your mind out! It's crap.

  6. I find it disturbing how men can view men who have lived through war as something you "just get over". It is NEVER something you just get over and often it takes tremendous strength, courage, and fortitude to just get up every single day and do what you must to survive. War is far more than just the human cost, it is an investment of over four million savage years of humanity and it's will to survive. And can we just turn that off? No, no we can't. And as long as there is war and unrest, there will always be a need for brave men and women to emerge victorious in the face of adversity. And there will always be victors, and the vanquished. And those in between who left their very souls in some God forsaken hole in the wall.

  7. my class is making us watch this and im in a 10th grade SPED class and we live right above this area in orgon and this was filmed where the goonies was

  8. I have came here because my teacher read the book to me and i wanted to see the movie because i read the book and the movie is really good already

  9. Insane comes to my mind when thinking about this movie. Like Hitlers war on the Jews. Murder is murder no matter your reasoning.
    Thank you for sharing
    God bless

  10. Ok corny love story. Great Cast Dern and Nelson die too soon I thought the Baron was Tom Brady.
The clothes are just too clean after being ship wrecked and Tom's clothes were pretty clean also.

Aside from the fake candle flames, it was a pretty decent adaptation. Worth the watch 🎉

  11. The original was one of the most disturbing films I've ever seen. Certainly Faye Wray's darkest film, and she had a number of dark ones. Thoroughly unsettling. Literally floored there hasn't been a remake 'til now. Well, except the film in the 60's with Robert Reed with the same premise except for there being four teens instead of a twenty something couple. This was a sober formidable remake. I could not stop watching, a good film in its own right. Brutal. For me the original remains more shocking somehow. The leads here being so likable was captivating. Casper outdid himself a bit here, some craftmanship on display. Judd Nelson hits his mark with the others. But Bruce Dern in action is always something to behold, a master at his art, legend. But smelling the fear of Faye Wray and Joel McRae from the screen is unforgettible. The disturbing premise as you originally watch it unfold is shocking. The orginal villains mad lust for blood disturbed me. This version is well worth the watch but I still must vote for the iriginal. Something about the 30's. I can't put my finger on it. The world being less populated and more unexplored makes the remote island more sinister? Faye and the others raw passion and sold out to the story and going for broke? Or maybe seeing the premise itself played out the first time gives the feeling of nearly coming out of your skin? Who knows but these are some of my thoughts. Thank you so much for posting this film, obviously you struck a nerve and as you can tell I had a fantastic time.😊 i must remark again about the leads in this version again, was it their modesty that made them so charasmatic? The leads in this film were just hypnotic somehow. Much love.😊

  12. That has to be the worst accent I've ever heard…just dreadful! Casper's movies weren't stellar, but they were good to watch on a rainy day……I think they should of taken the budget they received and given it to their local food bank, instead of making this movie…good grief.
