Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya ’bout this here movie, Exodus: Gods and Kings. Folks been talkin’ ’bout it, so I figured I’d give it a watch and see what all the fuss is about. Now, I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’, just a regular person tellin’ it like it is.

First off, this fella Christian Bale, he plays this Moses fella. You know, the one from the Bible? He does a pretty good job, I reckon. He’s got that serious look on his face most of the time, like he’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders. And I guess he kinda does, what with leadin’ all them people and all.

Now, the fella who made this movie, Ridley Scott, he’s a real clever one. He made some other movies too, like that one with the scary monster in space, Alien, and that other one with the robots, Blade Runner. Folks say he’s real good at makin’ movies, and I can see why. This Exodus movie, it looks real nice. Them buildin’s and them clothes, they look like somethin’ special.

  • But lemme tell ya, this movie ain’t exactly like the Bible story I heard in Sunday school.
  • They changed some things around, added some stuff, left some stuff out.
  • Some folks, they got their feathers ruffled ’bout that. Specially them church folks. They say it ain’t right to mess with the Bible.

One thing folks were complainin’ about was how all the Egyptians in the movie looked like, well, white folks. Now, I ain’t never been to Egypt, but I heard tell them folks over there don’t look like no white folks I ever seen. So yeah, that was a bit odd, I gotta say. Made me scratch my head a bit.

But you know, even with all the changes and the white Egyptians, I still kinda liked the movie. It was excitin’, with all them plagues and that Red Sea partin’ and all. It made me think about God and Moses and them Israelites. It made me think about how tough things were back then, and how important it is to have faith.

This here God fella in the movie, though, he’s a bit of a puzzle. Sometimes he seems nice, helpin’ Moses and all. But other times, he seems kinda mean, sendin’ all them plagues and killin’ folks. It makes ya wonder, you know? Is he good or bad? Or maybe somethin’ in between?

And then there’s Moses himself. He starts out as a prince, all fancy and rich. But then he finds out he’s really one of them Israelites, and he has to choose a side. He chooses his own people, even though it means givin’ up all that fancy stuff. That takes guts, I tell ya. It ain’t easy doin’ the right thing, especially when it’s hard.

The movie ain’t perfect, mind you. Like I said, they changed some things from the Bible, and that might bother some folks. And like I said the whole white Egyptian thing was a bit weird. But overall, I think it’s a good movie. It’s got action, it’s got drama, it’s got a good story. And it makes ya think, which is always a good thing. At least for me, a simple gal just trying to make sense of things.

So, if you’re lookin’ for a movie to watch, and you don’t mind a little bit of Bible story mixed in with some Hollywood magic, then I reckon you might like Exodus: Gods and Kings. Just don’t expect it to be exactly like the Bible, and don’t expect all them Egyptians to look like they should. And who knows, maybe it’ll get you thinking about some bigger things in life, like faith and doin’ what’s right.

At the end of the day, it’s a movie, right? It’s there for entertainin’ ya, makin’ ya feel somethin’, and maybe gettin’ you to think a little. And this here movie, it did that for me, even with all its quirks and oddities. So yeah, I’d say it’s worth a watch if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do on a Saturday night, or whenever you watch your movies.
