Well, howdy there! Let’s yak about them new Asian movies from 2023. I ain’t no fancy film critic, mind you, just a regular person who likes watchin’ a good flick now and then. So, if you’re lookin’ for big words and complicated stuff, you best go elsewhere. But if you wanna hear it straight from the shoulder, like your grandma used to tell it, then stick around.
Lots of new movies came out in 2023, and some of ’em were from Asia. You know, places like China, Japan, Korea, and that Thailand place. They make all sorts of movies over there, just like we do here. Some are scary, some are funny, some make you cry, and some just make you scratch your head and wonder what in the tarnation you just watched.
Now, I ain’t seen every single one of these Asian movies, that’s for sure. There’s just too darn many! But I’ve seen a few, and I’ve heard folks talkin’ about others. So, let me tell you what I know.
One thing I noticed is that them streaming services, like Netflix and Amazon Prime, they got a whole heap of Asian movies. You can just sit on your couch and watch ’em right on your TV. It’s mighty convenient, I tell ya. No need to go traipsin’ down to the movie theater and pay an arm and a leg for popcorn.
Speaking of streaming, them fellas at Netflix and Amazon Prime, they seem to be snatchin’ up all the good movies. And then there’s Hulu and somethin’ called Kocowa, which is all about Korean stuff. So, if you’re lookin’ for Asian movies, them’s good places to start.
I heard tell of a Thai movie called “Hunger.” Sounds kinda scary, don’t it? And then there’s this Korean thriller, “Jung_E,” from the fella who made “Train to Busan.” Now, “Train to Busan,” that was a wild ride! Zombies and such. So, I reckon “Jung_E” is probably pretty good too, if you like that sort of thing.
- Some folks are makin’ lists of the best Asian movies of 2023. You can find these lists online, if you know where to look. They’ll tell you all about the movies that the critics liked. But remember, them critics, they got their own ideas. Just ’cause they say a movie is good, don’t mean you’ll like it. And just ’cause they say it’s bad, don’t mean it ain’t worth watchin’.
- There’s all kinds of genres, too. You got your action movies, your romantic comedies, your horror flicks, and everything in between. So, whatever you’re in the mood for, you can probably find an Asian movie to scratch that itch.
- And don’t forget about them DVDs and Blu-rays. Some folks still like to watch movies the old-fashioned way. And there’s plenty of Asian movies comin’ out on disc, too.
Now, I can’t tell you the names of every single Asian movie that came out in 2023. Like I said, there’s just too many. But I can tell you this: there’s some good ones out there, if you’re willing to look for ’em. Don’t be afraid to try somethin’ new. You might just surprise yourself.
And don’t go thinkin’ that just because a movie is from another country, it ain’t gonna make no sense to you. People are people, no matter where they come from. We all laugh, we all cry, we all get scared. And a good story is a good story, no matter what language it’s in. Most of these movies got subtitles, so you can read along and know what’s goin’ on. And some of ’em are even dubbed in English, if you don’t like readin’ while you’re watchin’.
