Alright, let’s talk about them picture shows in New Bern, North Carolina. You know, the movies! I ain’t too fancy with words, but I can tell ya where to go and what’s what.
First off, if you’re lookin’ to save a bit of money, seems like Tuesdays are the days to go. Them smart folks call it “discounted tickets,” but all I know is it’s cheaper! They say somethin’ ’bout loyalty members gettin’ tickets for five to nine dollars. Sounds like a good deal to me, if you’re into that sort of thing. I ain’t never been a “member” of nothin’ but the church choir, but hey, to each their own.
Now, where to go? There’s this place called Bear Town Cinema 6. It’s over on Trent Road. 2806 Trent Road, to be exact. You can’t miss it. Big ol’ building, probably got pictures of popcorn and movie stars all over it. They got all the new movies playin’ there, the ones the young folks are always talkin’ about. And they got them rewards things too, somethin’ called Fandango. Double rewards they say, whatever that means. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but if you like gettin’ extra stuff, go for it.

Then there’s the Bruin Theater. That one’s on Neuse Boulevard. 2500 Neuse Blvd, that’s the address. Same kinda deal, they got the movies and the Fandango thing. I reckon they both show pretty much the same pictures, so it just depends on where you’re at and which one’s closer. They got maps and all that fancy stuff online if you need help findin’ ’em.

Now, I heard tell of somethin’ called “XD movies.” Sounds mighty impressive, don’t it? Extreme digital, they call it. Sharper picture, brighter colors. I ain’t seen one myself, but the young folks say it’s the real deal. If you’re gonna spend your hard-earned money, might as well get the best, I always say. Though, honestly, a good story is a good story, whether the picture’s fancy or not.
And if you’re lookin’ for showtimes, you can find ‘em online too. Just type in the zip code, 28562 or 28564, they cover New Bern. Or just ask around town, somebody’s bound to know what’s playin’ and when. We ain’t that big of a place.
They also got this “FanClub” thing. Says it helps you save money with monthly credits and no fees on tickets. Sounds like one of them clubs where you pay to save money, which never made much sense to me, but like I said, to each their own. If you go to the movies a lot, maybe it’s worth it.
