Hey there, y’all! Let’s jaw about that there movie, “Malicious,” that came out in 2023. Now, I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’, just a regular person who likes a good scare now and then. So, don’t expect no big words or complicated talk from me, alright?
What’s this “Malicious” movie all about, anyway?
Well, from what I gathered, it’s supposed to be one of them thrillers, you know, the kind that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s about this thing, or maybe a person, that’s just plain mean, just plain malicious. They’re out to get somebody, and the whole movie is about watchin’ it all unfold.
Now, the actors, them folks did a pretty good job. I mean, they acted all scared and worried and such, just like real people would if they was in that kinda situation. The director, that John Fallon fella, he did alright too, I guess. He made it all look spooky and kept me guessin’ for a while.
- Scary parts? Yep, it had a few.
- Made me jump? A couple of times, sure did.
- Good story? Well, that’s where it gets a bit tricky.
The story, the story… that’s where it kinda fell apart for me.
See, for a good long while, I was right there with it. I was thinkin’, “Okay, this is gettin’ good. I wanna know what’s gonna happen next.” But then, then came the big reveal, the big twist they call it. And let me tell you, it was a big ol’ letdown. A real disappointment, it was.
I was expectin’ somethin’ clever, somethin’ that would make me say, “Well, I’ll be darned! I didn’t see that comin’!” But no, it wasn’t like that at all. It was just… blah. Like they ran outta ideas and just threw somethin’ together at the last minute. It made me feel like I wasted all that time gettin’ scared for nothin’.
So, is “Malicious” worth watchin’?
Well, that depends on what you’re lookin’ for. If you just want a few cheap thrills and don’t care too much about the story makin’ sense, then maybe you’ll like it. The actors are good, and there are some tense moments.
But if you’re lookin’ for a movie that’s gonna stick with you, one that’s gonna make you think, then I’d say skip this one. There are plenty of other thrillers out there that are way better. Malicious movie 2023, it just didn’t do it for me in the end, the movie review, is just so so, that Malicious 2023 disappointed me you see.
Let me tell you a story about my neighbor’s dog…
This ain’t got nothin’ to do with the movie, but it reminds me of that time my neighbor’s dog, Buster, got all excited about a squirrel in the yard. Buster, he chased that squirrel up a tree, barkin’ and jumpin’ and makin’ a big fuss. And we were all watchin’, thinkin’, “Boy, this is gonna be somethin’!” But then, the squirrel just ran off, and Buster just stood there lookin’ confused. It was kinda like that movie, you know? All that build-up for nothin’.
Anyways, back to the movie. I read some other folks’ reviews online, and seems like some of them felt the same way I did. They liked the actors, they liked the scary parts, but that twist, that ending, it just didn’t work. Some folks even said it was downright silly. And I gotta agree with ’em.
Here’s my final say on this “Malicious” business.
It ain’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen, not by a long shot. But it ain’t the best neither. It’s just kinda… middlin’. If you got nothin’ better to do on a rainy night and you wanna watch somethin’ that’ll make you jump a few times, then go ahead and give it a try. But don’t expect too much, and definitely don’t expect a satisfying ending. That’s my critics reviews, simple and plain, just like I like it.
