Alright, y’all, let’s talk about them New Orleans movie locations. I ain’t no fancy film critic or nothin’, but I do know a thing or two ’bout watchin’ movies and hearin’ folks gabbin’ ’bout where they filmed ’em. So, let’s get down to it.
Now, first off, seems like this New Orleans place is a real popular spot for makin’ movies. I hear tell they filmed a whole bunch of stuff there, from vampire shows to police dramas. Why, they even got this place called Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 that’s in a whole heap of movies. Spooky, ain’t it? They call it one of them “cities of the dead,” with them above-ground graves and all. Guess it’s perfect for them monster movies and such.
Then there’s this show called “The Originals,” a spin-off from that vampire thing. They used this place called Madison Town Park for one of their scenes. Made it look like some park in New Orleans, Jackson Square Park, they called it. Can you believe it? They just go and change one park into another. Movie magic, I guess.
And speaking of parks, they got this big ol’ green space in Madison, called the Great Lawn. Folks been gatherin’ there since way back when, early 1900s, they say. They even have concerts and events there. Sounds like a nice place to spend a day, if you ain’t too busy watchin’ movies, that is.
Then there’s this “NCIS: New Orleans” show. It’s one of them police shows, you know, where they catch the bad guys and all that. They filmed the whole darn thing in New Orleans, showin’ off the city and everything. Makes you want to go visit, seein’ all them fancy streets and buildings.
- Lafayette Cemetery No. 1: That spooky cemetery I was tellin’ you ’bout. Perfect for them monster and vampire movies.
- Madison Town Park: They made this park look like Jackson Square Park in New Orleans. Tricky, ain’t it?
- Great Lawn: Big ol’ park in Madison where folks gather for concerts and stuff. Not really a movie location, but it’s nice.
Oh, and get this. They filmed a show called “American Horror Story” there too. Two whole seasons! One was called “Coven” about witches and such, and the other was “Freak Show” with circus folks. Can you imagine? Witches and circus people all wanderin’ around New Orleans. Sounds like a wild time, if you ask me.
And there’s this other show called “Tremé.” It ain’t just filmed in New Orleans, it’s all about New Orleans, specially this old African American neighborhood. They show you all the parts of town you don’t usually see, the real heart of the city, they say.
Now, I ain’t never been to New Orleans myself, but from what I see in the movies, it’s a pretty interestin’ place. Swamps and old buildings and all that jazz. Speaking of swamps, they got this Honey Island Swamp. Looks spooky and mysterious, perfect for adventures and such. Not sure if they film a lot of movies there, but it sure looks like they could.
So, if you’re ever in New Orleans, keep your eyes peeled. You never know when you might stumble onto a movie set. Or maybe just recognize a place from one of them shows. It’s a city full of stories, that’s for sure. And moviemakers seem to love tellin’ them stories using the real New Orleans as their backdrop. Makes it more real, I reckon.
Los Angeles, they say, that’s where most movies get made. Hundreds of ’em. Even more than New Orleans. But New Orleans, it’s got a certain somethin’, a special feel. Maybe that’s why so many folks want to film there. It’s a place that just pulls you in.
And London, way over there in England, that’s another big movie city. Lots of filming goes on there too. But we’re talkin’ ’bout New Orleans today, so let’s stick to that.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say ’bout New Orleans movie locations. Just remember, if you see a movie set, don’t go botherin’ them folks. They’re tryin’ to work, and you don’t want to get in their way. Just watch from a distance and enjoy the show. And maybe later, you can tell your friends you saw where they filmed that movie. They’ll be impressed, I betcha.
