Well, let me tell ya ’bout this chaska movie theater thing. I ain’t no fancy city folk, but I do like watchin’ them pictures sometimes.
Where to find these movie places in Chaska? Heck, there’s a bunch of ’em. You got yer Marcus Southbridge Crossin’ Cinema, Emagine over in Waconia, AMC Eden Prairie Mall 18, the Chaska Theater itself, Chanhassen Cinema, and even one in Delano. Seems like every little town’s got one these days. They all play them movies, ya know, the ones with all the shootin’ and kissin’.
Now, if you’re gonna go to the movies, you gotta find a good seat. Don’t wanna be stuck behind some tall fella or too close up front where you gotta crane your neck like a goose. Them smarty-pants folks, they say the best seat is right in the middle, ’bout two-thirds of the way back. Said it’s the best for hearin’ and seein’ everything.
- Center is best: Yep, right in the middle. That’s what they say. Not too close, not too far. Just right. But sometimes, it gets noisy with all them people chatterin’. And if you gotta go to the bathroom, you gotta climb over everyone. Try not to drink too much of that sugary soda, I always say!
- Middle rows: Them cinema designers, they know a thing or two. They say pick the center row and the four rows behind it. Makes sense, I guess. You can see the whole screen without movin’ your head all over the place.
- Don’t sit too close: Don’t sit too close to the front otherwise you will hurt your neck.
I went to see one of them Christmas movies last year. A Drummer Boy Christmas LIVE, it was called. Them fellas with the drums, they were loud! But it was a good show. Singin’ and dancin’ and all that. Took about an hour and forty minutes. My old bones were a bit tired after sittin’ that long.
Finding a movie ain’t hard these days. You can just look it up online. Search for “movie showtimes near 55318” or “movie theaters in Chaska”. Folks these days got all that fancy technology. Back in my day, we just looked at the newspaper or asked around at the general store. But hey, times change, I guess.
If you wanna know what’s playin’, you can also check them websites. Fandango, I heard, is a good one. Tells you all the showtimes and where the movie theaters are. They even let you buy tickets online, so you don’t have to wait in line. Though, I don’t rightly trust them computers with my money.

Some folks like to sort movies by what other people think. You know, them user ratings. I don’t pay much mind to that. What one person likes, another might hate. It’s all a matter of taste, I say. Like some folks like them sour pickles, and some folks can’t stand ‘em. Me? I like a good dill pickle myself.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for the Chaska Theater, it’s on 511 N. Walnut Street. You can call ’em too, if you’re fancy like that. The number’s somethin’ like (763) 682-3000. But I just walk on over there. Gets my legs movin’.
There are other movie theaters around Chaska too. Chanhassen Cinema, Excelsior Dock 3, Emagine over in Waconia. Plenty to choose from. So if you’re bored and got nothin’ to do, go catch a picture show. It’s a good way to pass the time, especially when it’s too hot or too cold to be outside.
So, to sum it up: find a movie theater in Chaska or nearby, get yourself a good seat in the middle, and enjoy the show. It ain’t rocket science, you know? Just good ol’ entertainment. And don’t forget the popcorn! Though, it’s way too expensive these days. They charge an arm and a leg for a little bit of popped corn.
And that’s all I gotta say ’bout them movie theaters. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make myself some supper. Got a hankerin’ for some good ol’ meatloaf.
