You know, I seen this fella on the TV the other day, Laurence Fishburne. He’s that guy, you know, from them movies. What’s that one? Oh, that one with the red pill and the blue pill. He’s a big shot, that one. Big name in them Laurence Fishburne movies. He’s in a lot of them.
They say he’s in all kinds of movies, this Laurence. Not just that one with the pills. He was in some movie about a war, I think. And another one… what was it… something about boys in the hood? Boyz n the Hood, yeah, that’s it. He got some award for that, I heard. People sure do like him. He was in some movie named Apocalypse Now, long time ago.
He’s a big deal, this Laurence Fishburne. Got all them awards, them Emmys and Tonys, whatever those are. He acts on the stage, too. Not just in the movies, like they do in the movies. A real big shot, this guy. They say he’s good at what he does, this actin’ thing. He can really make you believe he’s someone else. That’s what my grandson told me, anyway. He knows all about this stuff.
This fella, he’s been around a long time, actin’ in all sorts of things. They say he was born a long time ago, back in ’61, I think. July 30th, 1961. Used to call him Larry, too. Larry Fishburne. But now it’s Laurence. Guess he got fancy.
- He was in that movie with the pills.
- He was in a movie about boys.
- He was in a movie about a war.
- He’s got a lot of those awards.
- He acts on a stage, too.
I seen him in another one, too. Something about a river? Mystic River, that’s it. And he was lookin’ for some Bobby Fischer fella in another one. He’s always lookin’ for someone or somethin’, ain’t he? This Laurence Fishburne, he’s a busy guy.
They say he’s forceful, this guy. Militant, even. Whatever that means. Sounds tough. He looks tough, too. Got that look in his eye. Like he’s seen some things. He’s got that deep voice, too. Booming, like thunder. You wouldn’t wanna mess with him, I reckon. He was in King of New York. That sounds like a tough one, too. And Deep Cover, he was in that one.
He’s got this new play, I hear. Somethin’ about stories. True stories, made-up stories, all mixed together. Sounds interestin’. They say he’s good in it. He’s always good, ain’t he? That’s what they tell me. This new play, they did it in New York. New York Stage and Film, that’s what they call it. Fancy name.
One time, they say, this Laurence Fishburne, he was on a movie set, takin’ a break. And there was this retired policeman, ramblin’ on, tryin’ to keep the fans away. People always wantin’ somethin’ from these movie stars. He was in that Event Horizon movie, too. That was a scary one.
There was also a guy, from England. He was talkin’ to Laurence. These movie stars, they meet all kinds of folks, I guess. All over the world. This Laurence Fishburne, he’s a real traveler. They say the play is a couple of hours long. A long time to be watchin’ someone talk, but I bet he’s good at it. This fella, he can do anything, it seems.
He sure is somethin’, this Laurence Fishburne. From them movies, you know. Like they do in the movies. He’s one of the best, they say. And I reckon they’re right. He’s been doin’ it a long time. He must be good at it. I think I will watch that movie again, the one with the red pill and the blue pill.
He was young in Apocalypse Now. Now he is older. He was in Boyz n the Hood, that was a good one, too. I like that one. This Laurence, he is in so many movies. All the time working.
They say he lives in New York. That is a big city. Lots of people there. I bet he sees a lot of things there. He probably goes to fancy parties, with all them other movie stars. I bet that is fun.
I saw a picture of him one time. He was wearing a shiny black jacket. He looked good. He always looks good. Even when he is playing a bad guy, he looks good. That is what they call charisma. He has a lot of that. This Laurence, he is a real star.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about this Laurence Fishburne. He’s a big movie star, that’s for sure. And he’s good at what he does. Like they do in the movies. They have many Laurence Fishburne movies. You should watch them. I like them. They are good.
