21. He joined the national guard and most guard units serve on the home front and most don't get deployed overseas it all depends on your MOS and unit weather they send you to active duty. Also so many people who have never served have know clue how much War effects you because of the things that you have to do and see in combat to stay alive and to keep your brothers alive and when you get home survivors guilt combined with PTSD it's very difficult to adjust to being back in normal society and accepting that life continues and things and people change and coming to terms with it is very hard and this movie is a good portrayal of what we have to adjust to when we get home..
