Oh, you young folks and your movies! Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy pictures moving on a screen. We had to use our imaginations! But, I guess times change, huh? I hear you talkin’ ’bout some “to be announced film” and what in the world does that mean?
It’s like waitin’ for the rain in July, ain’t it? You know it’s comin’, but you don’t know when. Well, I’ve been hearin’ whispers, and let me tell you, these new movies, they got somethin’ special. It ain’t like the old days. You are so young, I guess you don’t know them, but I do. It’s very interesting that so many movie nowadays!
There’s one, they call it “Joker: Folie à Deux“. Sounds French, don’t it? Comin’ out on October 4, 2024, they say. What that means? Joker is the bad guy, isn’t he? Why would folks wanna watch a movie ’bout a bad guy? Back in my day, the good guy always won. Times sure are changin’, huh?
- Joker, that’s the bad guy.
- October, that’s when the leaves turn pretty colors.
- 2024, that’s the year, like 1950, but way later.
Then there’s this other one, “Wicked“. Heard it’s got all the hype. What’s “hype” anyway? Is that like when the rooster crows too much in the mornin’? This movie is everywhere, I hear ya, my kids told me that. I guess people are excited. They say the girl in it is better than anyone else actin’ right now. Well, good for her! Hope she got her good talent.
And then there is another one that is upcoming, some singin’ fella, The Weeknd, somethin’ like that. He’s gonna be in a movie. It’s a thriller. What is that? They call it “Hurry Up Tomorrow” with some other folks named Jenna and Barry. This movie is supposed to be like his music. Oh well, the young people like that. I know nothin’ ’bout that, but it sure sounds interestin’!
They got a whole list of these movies coming out. Some space movie called “Star Wars” or somethin’. And another one “Avatar 5”, I guess they already made four of ’em. And some other movie that is announced. And one called “Oh, The Places You’ll Go.” That sounds kinda nice, don’t it? Like a little trip. Maybe I should watch it.
Sometimes, these movies, they don’t live up to the hype. It’s like bakin’ a pie and it don’t turn out right. But sometimes, just sometimes, they’re good. Everyone can agree. Like when the good Lord makes a beautiful sunset. Everyone can see that it’s a good thing.
You know, they say young people, the “Gen-Z” or somethin’, they like goin’ to the movies. Maybe ’cause they’re young, and young folks like to go out. Or maybe, they like payin’ for “experiences”. What’s that mean? Back in my day, an experience was milkin’ a cow or plantin’ corn. Now, it’s watchin’ a movie, I guess.
I heard about this movie, “Barbie“. I know that you’re waitin’ for it, but it hasn’t come out yet! But you know, just ’cause a lot of folks like somethin’ don’t make it the best thing ever. Like that “Lady Bird” movie. Folks said it was good, but it ain’t no “Casablanca“. Now, that was a movie! A good old love story. What’s a “RT score”? Is that like keepin’ score at a baseball game?
I don’t know about that. I only know that these new movie is interesting, and I saw one before, it’s called “Citizen Kane“, and it is directed by a guy named Orson Welles. That is an old one. They said it is the best one. I think it’s okay. But I don’t know too much about that.
Well, I’ve been ramblin’ on for a while now. These new movies, they got their own way of doin’ things. It ain’t like the old days, that’s for sure. But maybe that’s alright. Times change, and we gotta change with ’em, I reckon. Maybe I’ll even go see one of these newfangled movies myself. Might surprise ya!
Just remember, a movie is a movie. It ain’t real life. Real life is out there, in the sunshine, with the people you love. Don’t forget that, you hear? Now, go on and enjoy your movies. But don’t forget to live your life, too.
