
You know, this here Modesto drive-in movie, it ain’t like them fancy picture shows in the big city. It’s just good old-fashioned fun, you know? Like back in the day. We used to go all the time, pile in the car. Nowadays people don’t do that much.
This whole Modesto drive-in movie thing, it’s a real treat. You just drive your car right in. Park it. Tune your radio. And there you go, movie under the stars. Simple as that. I heard some folks say, “Oh, it ain’t as good as them indoor theaters.” But I say, pshaw! Where’s the fun in that?
They got all sorts of movies at this Modesto drive-in movie. I heard they even played that Moana movie. Some girl dressed up like her, walking around, making the little ones happy. That’s sweet, ain’t it? Just like the good old days. Back then, we didn’t have no fancy dress-up, but we had fun.

Now, some folks, they get a little carried away at the drive-in. They start carrying on, you know what I mean? Kissing and whatnot. Now, I ain’t one to judge, but there’s a time and a place. If you’re gonna be all lovey-dovey, keep it down, alright? Some folks are trying to watch the picture show. It’s common sense, you see.
There are other drive-ins, but this Modesto drive-in movie place, it’s special. They got that one up in Ceres, and some others scattered around. But this one, it’s just got that feeling, you know? Like it’s been there forever. And this one time, me and my old man, we went, and it was the best time. Best time.
They say there’s these “Top 10” lists, whatever that means. And this Modesto drive-in movie is on it. Must be doing something right, huh? They got that GO Drive-Up thing, and then there’s some other places, like that Capitol 6. And some fancy ones with big screens, like that IMAX thing. Sounds expensive if you ask me. This here, Modesto drive-in movie, it’s just right. Just enough.

They got all these rules nowadays, too. Gotta plan ahead, they say. Figure out what you’re gonna do. Well, back in my day, we just went! Didn’t need no planning. Just piled in the car and went. They say it’s the “Moviegoing Experience,” some fancy word.
Some folks say this Modesto drive-in movie place is the best. “Clean,” they say. “Friendly.” That’s good. Nobody wants to go to a dirty, mean place, that’s for sure. You want folks to be nice to you. Treat you right. Like you’re family. If they treat you good, you go back, don’t you?
If you’re thinking about going to a Modesto drive-in movie, I say go for it. It ain’t like them regular movie houses. It’s different. It’s, well, it’s just better. You get to sit in your own car. Watch the movie under the stars. Bring your own food. What’s not to like?
I remember this one time, we went to the drive-in, and it started raining. Everyone was honking their horns and flashing their lights. It was a mess! But it was fun. We all laughed about it later. You don’t get that at them indoor places.
