This here Netflix thing, they call it the Netflix Marquee. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Well, it ain’t as fancy as it sounds, let me tell you. It’s just some shows they got on that there TV box, the one you gotta pay for every month.
They got all kinds of things on there. Shows, movies, all that stuff. But you gotta pay to watch, that’s the thing. And they keep changing how much it costs, too! It’s like they’re always trying to get more money outta you. Makes my head spin. One day it’s one price, next day it’s another. Lord have mercy.
So, they got this Netflix Marquee thing where they put some shows, you know? They want to get people all excited. It is for some new shows. But they got all kinds of stuff. And they got these things called “plans,” I hear. Like you can pay one price and get this, or pay another price and get that. It’s like them folks at the store with their coupons. Too much to keep track of.

- They got one without ads, but it costs more.
- It’s all a big mess, if you ask me.
I heard they used to have a cheap one, no ads, but they took it away. Now if you’re new, you gotta pay more if you don’t want those pesky ads poppin’ up all the time. It’s $6.99 now for the one with ads, I heard. That’s what they’re sayin’. Who knows if it’ll stay that way. It is about the Netflix cost. They’re always changin’ things up.
And they got this thing where they talk about what’s popular, you know, like what everyone else is watchin’. They call it “pop culture,” I think. Fancy words for just talkin’ about what shows people like. And they talk about “fandom,” which is like when folks really, really like a show. They go crazy for it. Like them folks who like them wrestling shows, they get all riled up.
They say they’re tryin’ to be “conversational,” not “promotional.” Whatever that means. Sounds like a load of hogwash to me. They just want you to watch their shows, that’s all. They say they ain’t pushy, but they are. Always tellin’ you what to watch, when to watch it. They just want your money. It is the same thing with Netflix plans, they always want more money.
They got these “teases,” they call ’em. Little snippets of the show to get you hooked. And they tell you when it’s comin’ out, the “release date.” And then they say “now streaming,” which just means you can watch it now. Like we’re too dumb to figure that out ourselves.
They do all kinds of things. This Netflix Marquee thing, they put up pictures, they write things. They even got folks in other countries doin’ it, I hear. France, and some other places. It’s the same all over. They just want people to watch.
This Netflix thing, it is a big deal. They got all these plans and all these shows. They say their marketing is about getting people to want Netflix. They say that they got the best content. Only for subscribers. Like the Netflix streaming. And they have these big campaigns. Like them commercials on TV. They are everywhere.
And they got partners, too. Like them phone companies. They work together so you can get Netflix with your phone bill. It’s all connected now. They make it easy to sign up, that’s for sure. They want to make sure everyone can get Netflix. That way they can get to everybody. They have this Netflix Marquee everywhere.
And get this, they even know when you ain’t watchin’ as much. They keep track of everything. It’s like they’re watchin’ you while you’re watchin’ them. Creepy, ain’t it? They know what you’re watchin’, when you’re watchin’ it. Everything.
So, this Netflix Marquee, it’s just a way for them to show off their shows, I reckon. They want you to think it’s special, that you just gotta have it. They want everyone in the world watching. But it’s just TV, ain’t it? Just a bunch of shows. Don’t let ’em fool you. It ain’t all that. It is not very good to just watch TV all day.
They got all these tricks to get you to watch more. And pay more. It’s a business, that’s all it is. Just a big business tryin’ to make money. Don’t you forget it. It is all about the Netflix cost and money. And always remember to close these tags, like this
