Yo, you ever heard of them bondage horror movies? Lordy, my neighbor’s kid was talkin’ ’bout ’em the other day. Said it’s all the rage with the young folks now. Sounds awful to me, just awful. But hey, what do I know? I’m just an old woman who likes her peace and quiet.
They got all kinds of these movies now, he was sayin’. Some with ghosts, some with goblins, some with people tied up. It’s all madness, if you ask me. Back in my day, we just had to worry about the wolves in the woods. Now they got all these killers and demons in their movies. It ain’t right, I tell ya. They call ’em bondage horror movies and they’re supposed to be scary. I guess some people like that kinda thing.
This one movie, he said, was called “Mandy.” Said it’s all colorful and crazy, like a bad dream. Sounds like a nightmare to me, that’s what. He kept goin’ on and on about it. Bondage horror movies this, bondage horror movies that. Kids these days.
Then there’s this other one, “The Exorcist.” An old one, from back in the day, apparently. He said it’s the best one. But I don’t know. All these movies sound the same to me. Full of screaming and scary stuff. It’s just too much.
My neighbor’s kid, he said you can watch ’em all online now. They’re streamable. Don’t need no fancy TV or nothin’. He says there’s loads of ’em. Just type in “bondage horror movies” and you’ll find a whole bunch. He was talkin’ about somethin’ called a “marathon.” Like watchin’ a whole bunch of these movies back to back. Who would wanna do that? My goodness.
He said there are all kinds of these bondage horror movies. Some are gory, with lots of blood and guts. I mean, honestly, why would anyone want to see that? There’s these ones with these clowns, like this one called “Terrifier.” And then there’s ones about viruses, like somethin’ called “Cabin Fever.” It’s all so strange to me. I just don’t get it. What happened to good old-fashioned stories?

They got movies about everything now. People tied up, people gettin’ chased by monsters, you name it. And they put it all in these bondage horror movies. Seems like they just like to scare people for fun. That boy, he kept saying they’re “suspenseful.” I don’t know what that means. I reckon it means they’re scary.
He was tellin’ me about this other one, somethin’ called “Hush.” Said it’s real quiet, but still scary. Like, how can it be scary if it’s quiet? It’s all a mystery to me. All these bondage horror movies are, that’s for sure.
He said they got movies for everyone, these bondage horror movies. Even for people who don’t like scary stuff. Said they got some that make you laugh. Now how can a scary movie make you laugh? It’s beyond me. I don’t know if they’re scary or funny, but I guess it’s some type of bondage horror movies.
The neighbor’s kid, he’s always watchin’ somethin’. Always on that little phone of his, lookin’ at these movies. He’s always sayin’ you gotta watch this one or that one. It’s always about these bondage horror movies. Says there’s a whole bunch of these things out there, more than you can count. It’s a whole world of scary stuff, he says.
He was sayin’ they got these things called “slashers” in the movies. I guess that means they got knives and they’re cuttin’ people up. And they got maniacs, which I reckon are just crazy people. I don’t like the sound of that one bit. Bondage horror movies sound like a whole lot of trouble to me.
I told him, I said, “Why you wanna watch all that stuff? It ain’t good for ya.” He just laughed. Said it’s just for fun. Fun? Scarin’ yourself silly ain’t my idea of fun. I’d rather watch the birds or somethin’. Or maybe them baking shows. Those are nice. Not like these bondage horror movies.
He just kept goin’ on about it, though. It’s like he couldn’t stop. These bondage horror movies, they got a hold on him, I reckon. He was tellin’ me ’bout all the different kinds, all the different stories. It was makin’ my head spin. I just wanted him to stop talkin’ about it, to be honest.
He said they got some that are better when you’re… well, he used some words I didn’t understand. But he said some people like to watch ’em that way. Said it makes ’em more fun. I don’t know about that. These bondage horror movies sound bad enough on their own. I don’t think you need anything else to make ‘em worse.
I just don’t understand it, I really don’t. These bondage horror movies, they’re just not for me. I like things simple. I like things quiet. I don’t need all that scary stuff in my life. But I guess that’s just me. These young folks, they like all that crazy stuff. It’s a different world now, that’s for sure.
Maybe I’m just gettin’ old. Maybe I just don’t get it. But I think I’ll stick to my quiet evenings, thank you very much. You can keep your bondage horror movies. I’ll just be here, watchin’ the sunset and enjoyin’ the peace and quiet. That’s good enough for me.
