So, I heard about this new thing, a collab between Netflix’s “Love is Blind” and Cupcake Vineyards. They’re calling it “Love is Wine” Chardonnay. Sounds fancy, right? I mean, who doesn’t love a good reality show and a glass of wine? So, I thought, why not give it a try?
First, I went to my local store. They didn’t have it. No biggie, there are plenty of other stores. Checked the next one, and the next one, and… nothing. Feeling a bit like a detective on a mission, but not the fun kind. Finally, I decided to order it online. Much easier, should’ve done that from the start.
While waiting for my wine, I baked some cupcakes. Chocolate ones, because chocolate makes everything better. Plus, I saw somewhere that red wine goes well with chocolate, so I thought, maybe this Chardonnay will too? It was worth a shot. I mean I really wanted some wine, I also bought a bottle of cabernet sauvignon.
The wine arrived! It was packaged nicely, I’ll give them that. I chilled it for a bit, ’cause nobody likes warm Chardonnay, right? Then, the moment of truth. I poured myself a glass, took a sip, and… it was okay. Not mind-blowing, but not bad either. I guess I was expecting more of a “wow” factor, but it was just… wine.
- Tried it with the cupcakes. Not a great combo, to be honest. The chocolate was too overpowering.
- Sipped some more while watching “Love is Blind.” Now, that’s a match made in heaven. The drama of the show and the wine, it just worked.
- Finished the glass, then poured myself some of that cabernet sauvignon. Way better. But hey, to each their own.
So, would I recommend the “Love is Wine” Chardonnay? If you’re a die-hard “Love is Blind” fan, maybe. It’s more about the novelty, I think. As for the taste, it’s decent, but don’t expect fireworks. And definitely don’t pair it with chocolate cupcakes. You’ll thank me later. Also, for me, I think I enjoyed the cabernet sauvignon more. If you ask me which one I would choose again, I would pick the cabernet sauvignon without a second thought.
At the end, watching “Love is Blind” with a glass of “Love is Wine” Chardonnay in my hand just felt right. Maybe it’s the whole experience that counts, not just the wine itself.
That’s my little adventure with the Netflix Cupcake wine. Not what I expected, but still a fun experience. Cheers!
