Okay, so I wanted to find some good horror movies to watch, and I heard Philo had a pretty decent selection. So, I decided to give it a shot. First off, I signed up for Philo. It was pretty straightforward, just put in my email and payment info, and boom, I was in. They have a free trial, which is cool, so you can check it out before actually paying.

Once I was logged in, I started browsing around. I immediately looked for a “horror” or “scary movies” category. They have a bunch of categories, but honestly, finding the horror stuff wasn’t super obvious at first. But I eventually figured out I just needed to type “Horror” into the search bar.

  • The Exorcist (1973)

I saw “The Exorcist” listed there, which is an absolute classic. I’ve seen it before, but it’s one of those movies you can watch over and over. I clicked on it, and it started playing right away. The quality was pretty good, no buffering or anything. Philo also has some newer horror movies. I didn’t recognize a lot of them, but I saw something called “Longlegs” that looked interesting.

  • Psycho (1960)

I also saw Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” was available. That’s another all-timer in the horror genre, I’ve gotta say. I mean, it won that Edgar Allen Poe award and has an 8.5 on IMDb. It’s one of Hitchcock’s most well-known films, right up there with “The Birds” and “Rear Window.”

Philo has on-demand, so you can watch stuff whenever you want. I saw some classics like “Friday the 13th” and “Nightmare on Elm Street” listed. That’s pretty sweet. There are literally like 171 scary options available. They also have some other random stuff like “Fractured Flickers” and “The Great Train Robbery”.

Philo also has live TV, which is a nice bonus. I found a channel called “Scares by Shudder” that seems to play horror movies 24/7. I flipped it on, and they were showing some low-budget zombie flick. I ended up watching “The Exorcist” and then a few episodes of a horror series on Scares by Shudder.

Overall

I’d say Philo is worth checking out if you’re into horror. They have a good mix of old and new stuff, and the price is not bad. Plus, you get all those other live channels. It is a bit difficult to find the good movies, but there are many classic ones there. I’d say that overall, it is a good application.
