Alright, let’s talk about this Netflix show, “What Lies Between Us.” I gotta say, I stumbled upon it a few days ago and, man, it’s been a ride.
So, I started watching it without knowing much, just saw it pop up on my Netflix recommendations. I pressed play, and the first episode already had me hooked. It’s about this middle-aged woman, and right off the bat, you can tell something’s off. Turns out, she’s got her mom locked up in the house. Yeah, you heard that right, locked up!
- First thing I did was try to figure out why. What could someone do to deserve that?
- Then, I’m watching the interactions between them, and it’s all kinds of messed up. The tension, the secrets, the power dynamic – it’s all there.
- As I got deeper into the series, I started to piece together the backstory.
- There’s a whole history of betrayal and lies that goes way back.
I spent a good chunk of my weekend just binge-watching this thing. I mean, I had to know what happens next. Does the mom ever get out? Does the daughter ever face consequences? What’s the real story behind their whole twisted relationship?
It’s one of those shows that makes you think, makes you guess, and sometimes makes you want to yell at the screen. The acting’s pretty decent, but the plot is what really grabbed me. I kept trying to predict what would happen, and most of the time, I was wrong.
My Final Thoughts
After I finished the series, I was left with this weird feeling like a void. It wasn’t a happy ending, not by a long shot, but it felt real, in a strange, dark kind of way. I even went online to see what other people were saying about it. Seems like it got mixed reviews, but for me, it was a solid watch. It’s not for everyone, that’s for sure. It’s dark, it’s intense, and it definitely leaves you thinking long after the credits roll. I have also found some interesting things about it, someone says “it landed a 39% score on Rotten Tomatoes”, I don’t even know what the “Rotten Tomatoes” is.
Would I recommend it? If you’re into psychological thrillers and don’t mind a bit of a heavy storyline, then yeah, give it a shot. But if you’re looking for something light and fluffy, this ain’t it. This is the kind of show that sticks with you, whether you want it to or not.
