Okay, so, I got really into this whole Latino horror movie thing recently. It all started when I was just messing around on the internet, looking for something new to watch. I usually go for regular horror stuff, but this time, I don’t know, I just wanted something different. Typed “latino horror movies” into the search bar and, boom, rabbit hole time!
First thing I did was check out some of the stuff on Tubi. They have a page specifically for it, and it’s all free, which is awesome. They have a mix of old and new movies, so you can see how things have changed over time. I started with a few of the newer ones from 2023. One was called ‘When Evil Lurks’, which sounded super creepy, and another was part of the ‘V/H/S’ series, ‘V/H/S/85’. I watched them both, they were pretty good, and the best part was, they were free!
Then, I started digging deeper. Found this list of the best Spanish-language horror movies, ranked by something called a Tomatometer. Sounds fancy, huh? Anyway, this list had some really good suggestions. There was ‘Cronos’ from Mexico, which I heard is a classic, and ‘The Orphanage’ from Spain. I haven’t watched them yet, but they’re definitely on my list.
I also did a general search just to see what else was out there, and that’s when I found a whole lot more. I watched a few of them, but let’s be real, not all of them were great. Some were just okay, a few were pretty bad, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? You never know what you’re gonna get.
My Watchlist
- Cronos – This one’s from Mexico. Everyone says it’s a classic, so I gotta check it out.
- The Orphanage – This one’s from Spain. It’s supposed to be really good, so I’m excited to see it.
- When Evil Lurks – I found that this movie was free on Tubi.
- V/H/S/85 – This was also free on Tubi, and it was decent.
- The Exorcist – It’s a classic, almost universally hailed as the scariest movie of all time.
So yeah, that’s where I’m at with this whole Latino horror movie thing. It’s been a fun ride so far. I’ve seen some good stuff, some not-so-good stuff, and I’ve got a bunch more on my list to watch. If you’re looking for something different, or if you’re already into this kind of thing, I definitely recommend checking it out. You might find your new favorite movie, or at least have a good time watching some creepy stuff.
