So, I’ve been meaning to up my horror movie game lately. I mean, who doesn’t love a good scare, right? And with Halloween just around the corner, I figured it was the perfect time to dive into some new flicks. That’s when I remembered Redbox. Those little red kiosks are everywhere, and they usually have a decent selection of recent releases. Plus, they’ve got that on-demand thing now too, which is super convenient.

First, I hopped onto their website to see what they had. I typed “horror” into the search bar, and boom – a whole bunch of options popped up. I started browsing through the titles, checking out the cover art and reading the little synopses. They had some of the bigger names that I recognized, but I was more interested in finding some hidden gems. You know, those low-budget indie flicks that can sometimes be surprisingly good, or even fun.

After a bit of scrolling and clicking, I narrowed it down to three movies that looked promising. One was a supernatural thriller about a haunted house, another was a creature feature with some seriously creepy-looking monsters, and the last one was a psychological horror that seemed like it would really mess with my head. I jotted down the titles on a scrap of paper because, you know, I’m old-fashioned like that.

Next, I checked to see which Redbox locations near me had the movies in stock. Luckily, the one just down the street at the grocery store had all three. Score! I grabbed my keys and headed out, excited for a night of scares.

Getting the movies was a breeze. I just walked up to the kiosk, tapped a few buttons on the screen, swiped my card, and the discs popped out. I also grabbed some popcorn and soda from inside the store, because what’s a movie night without snacks, am I right?

  • Movie 1: The haunted house one. It was okay, a few jump scares, but nothing too original.
  • Movie 2: The creature feature. This one was actually pretty fun. The practical effects were awesome, and it had a good dose of cheesy gore.
  • Movie 3: The psychological horror. Man, this one stuck with me. It was slow-burn, but super unsettling. Definitely the best of the bunch.

All in all, it was a successful movie night. I discovered a couple of new horror flicks that I really enjoyed, and it didn’t even cost me that much. Redbox for the win! I’ll definitely be checking out their selection again soon. Maybe next time I’ll try their on-demand service and stream something straight to my TV. We’ll see! Gotta keep things fresh, you know?

This experiment was worth doing, and I ended up watching three horror movies. So if you’re looking for a good scare, don’t sleep on Redbox. They’ve got you covered. Just be sure to grab some snacks first!
