Alright, so I stumbled upon this cool idea the other day – a scratch-off poster featuring 100 horror movies. You know, like those bucket list things? As a huge horror fan, I immediately knew I had to get my hands on one and make it a personal project.
First things first, I went online and shopped around for the poster. Found a decent one with a good mix of classics and some newer flicks I hadn’t seen yet. Once it arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. The poster was pretty big, and each movie title was hidden under a silver scratch-off layer, like a lottery ticket. Neat!
I decided I wouldn’t just scratch them off randomly. Nah, I was gonna watch each movie first. So, I made myself a little system. I numbered a piece of paper from 1 to 100, and whenever I watched one of the movies, I’d write down the date and a few notes about what I thought.
I started with some of the big names, you know, the ones everyone talks about. “The Ring” was one of them, a classic. It still holds up, even though it’s from 2002. Then, I found this film called “Alucarda” from 1977. That one was a trip! Really weird and old-school, but in a good way. I wrote down a bunch of notes about that one, it was so out there. I also watched “Tales from the Hood”. I wrote down about how much I enjoyed that film.
- Watched “The Ring” (2002) – Still creepy!
- Watched “Alucarda” (1977) – Weird, wild, and wonderful.
- Watched “Tales from the Hood” (1995) – Enjoyed it a lot.
It took me a while, but I kept at it. I discovered some real hidden gems and a few duds, to be honest. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? And every time I finished a movie, I got that satisfying feeling of scratching off another square on the poster. It was like a little reward.
My Personal Horror Movie Scratch Poster Journey
This whole thing became a real passion project. I ended up making it a whole ritual. I’d pick a movie, make some popcorn, dim the lights, and get ready to be spooked. Some nights were scarier than others, let me tell you!
It was so interesting to see the variety of horror movies out there. Different styles, different time periods, different levels of scary. And I was watching stuff I never would have picked on my own.
Finally, after months, I scratched off that last square. It was a bittersweet moment. I was proud of myself for completing the whole thing, but also a little sad that it was over. But, you know what? Now I have a fully scratched-off poster and a whole list of 100 horror movies I’ve seen, with notes and everything. It was a really great experience. Now, I am thinking about what kind of poster to do next.
