Okay, so I’ve been on this huge Ed Harris kick lately. You know, that guy with the intense eyes and the voice that could melt glaciers? Yeah, him. I wanted to see what of his stuff was on Netflix, figured it would be a good way to spend a rainy weekend.
First, I grabbed my laptop and fired up the old Netflix app. Logged in, no problem. Then I hit the search bar and typed in “Ed Harris”. Now, I was hoping for a nice, organized list of all his movies, but Netflix search is…well, it’s a bit of a mess, to be honest.
The Search Begins
It popped up a bunch of suggestions, some with him, some…not so much. It’s like, you type in “Ed Harris” and you get suggestions for romantic comedies and animated stuff. I mean, I love a good cartoon, but that’s not what I’m here for, you know?
So, I had to do a little digging. I scrolled through what felt like a million titles. It wasn’t a total bust, though. I found a couple of movies right away like his movie in 1989, it was not on the list.
What I Found
Here’s what I managed to find:
- A history of violence: This one’s a classic. Ed Harris plays a total badass, as usual. I’d seen it before, but it’s definitely worth a rewatch.
- Gone Baby Gone: He’s got a smaller role in this one, but it’s a gripping movie. Dark, but really good.
- Snowpiercer: Okay, this one’s a bit out there, but it’s got Ed Harris as the enigmatic leader of a train in a post-apocalyptic world. I thought he was great in it.
I mean, there are a lot of others, but I only wanted to focus on some of the movies I really wanted to watch on Netflix.
The Verdict
Honestly, finding Ed Harris movies on Netflix was a bit of a pain. The search function is not great. There were way more things without Ed Harris at all. I really think they should fix that. But, hey, I did find a few gems, so my weekend was not a total wash. I just wish there were more of his movies available. If you’re a big Ed Harris fan like me, it’s worth checking out what they’ve got, but be prepared to do some searching!
Anyway, that’s my little adventure in Netflix land. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go watch A history of violence. Popcorn’s ready!
