Alright, so today I tried to mess around with some horror movie audio clips. Just wanted to see what I could do with them, you know?
First, I started by looking for some scary sounds. I just went to some random websites and started looking. I found this one website that said, “Royalty-free scared sound effects,” and I was like, “Cool, that’s what I need!” So, I downloaded a bunch of them. There were some really creepy ones, like this one that was just a long, drawn-out “BIG AAAAAAAAAAH.” I thought that one was pretty funny but also kind of unsettling.
Then, I remembered this movie I saw a while back called “Fear” with Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon. There’s this scene where Reese’s character, Nicole, meets Mark’s character, David, at a club in Seattle. I figured there might be some good audio from that movie, but I didn’t remember much.
I started hunting around for clips from other horror movies too. I stumbled upon some weird stuff, though. There were all these videos tagged with “Scared” on some adult websites, but that wasn’t what I was looking for at all. I did find a clip from some movie, maybe called “Scared (2005)”? It was something about that, but it was kind of a dead end. I did find this clip of “Scared Teen Elsa Jean,” but it was just more of the same weird stuff. I was just hoping for some classic jump scare sounds or some creepy dialogue.
- Started by downloading a bunch of “royalty-free” scared sound effects.
- Tried to find clips from the movie “Fear,” but it was a bust.
- Got sidetracked by some weird, unrelated videos while searching for “scared” clips.
- Found a clip from a movie possibly called “Scared (2005),” but it wasn’t helpful.
- Ended up with a bunch of random audio clips, but nothing that really stood out.
In the end, I didn’t really get anywhere with this little project. I just ended up with a folder full of random screams and weird noises. Maybe I’ll try again another time, but I think I need a better plan of attack. It’s tough finding good quality stuff. I just wanted to put something together that had that classic horror vibe, like when you’re watching a movie and you know something is about to jump out at you. Maybe I’ll try to record some sounds myself. I do have a microphone, maybe I just need to go to my basement with a flashlight and see what I can do.
The Takeaway
Well, this was a bit of a fail, but hey, at least I tried something, right? It’s all about experimenting and seeing what works. I might give this another go sometime, but for now, I’m just going to stick to watching horror movies instead of trying to make my own scary soundscapes.
