Okay, so I saw these horror movie nail decals online and thought, “Why not?” I’ve been wanting to spice up my nail game, and what better way than with some creepy cool designs? Plus, Halloween is just around the corner, so it’s the perfect time to get into the spooky spirit.
Getting Started
First things first, I had to get my hands on those decals. I found a bunch of different options, but I finally settled on a set that had a good mix of classic horror icons. I’m talking Freddy, Jason, Chucky, the whole gang. I also grabbed some basic nail supplies I was missing: a good base coat, a top coat, some tweezers, and a small bowl of water. Once I had everything laid out, I was ready to roll.
Prepping My Nails
Before I even thought about the decals, I had to prep my nails. I started by removing any old polish and giving my nails a good file and shape. I’m not a pro or anything, but I wanted a clean, smooth surface to work with. I pushed back my cuticles, then applied a thin layer of base coat to protect my nails and help the decals stick better.
Applying the Decals
- I had to cut out the decals I wanted to use. They were all on one sheet, so I carefully snipped around each design.
- Next, I filled a small bowl with water and placed the cut-out decal face down in the water for about 10-15 seconds. The backing paper started to loosen up.
- Using tweezers, I carefully picked up the decal and slid it off the backing paper. It was super thin and delicate, so I had to be gentle.
- I placed the decal onto my nail, making sure it was centered and smooth. I used my finger to gently press down and remove any air bubbles.
- It took a few tries to get it perfect, but I think I did well. I had to be patient and careful not to tear the decals.
Finishing Touches
Once all the decals were in place and dry, I applied a generous layer of top coat to seal them in and give my nails a nice, glossy finish. I let everything dry completely, and voila! I had some seriously awesome horror movie nails. I mean I nailed it. My friends loved them, and I’ve gotten so many compliments. It was a fun little project, and I’m already planning my next nail art adventure. I guess I’m gonna make this a regular thing. Maybe I’ll try some superhero designs next time, or maybe some cool patterns. The possibilities are endless!
