Okay, so I saw this thing online about making a “horror movie wine” and I thought, why not? It sounded kinda fun and different, so I decided to give it a shot. I’m not really a wine expert or anything, but I do enjoy a good glass every now and then, and I’m always up for trying something new.
First, I needed to find a wine that would fit the theme. I went to my local liquor store and started browsing. I was looking for something red, obviously, because, you know, blood and all that horror stuff. And I wanted something cheap because I wasn’t sure how this was gonna turn out, and I didn’t want to waste a good bottle on a crazy experiment.
I ended up picking a bottle of some generic Cabernet Sauvignon. It was like, $8, so I figured it was perfect. I also grabbed some food coloring – red and black, just to make it extra spooky.
Back home, I got everything ready. I poured myself a glass of the wine, just to see what it looked like before I messed with it. It was a pretty standard red, nothing special. Then came the fun part. I added a few drops of red food coloring, just to intensify the color a bit. It looked pretty cool, like a deeper, more blood-red.
Mixing and Matching
- Adding the black food coloring was a bit trickier. I didn’t want it to turn completely black, just a darker, more ominous shade of red.
- So, I added it drop by drop, stirring after each one, until I got the color I wanted. It ended up looking like a really dark, almost black-red, which I thought was perfect for the horror theme.
I took a sip, and honestly, it tasted pretty much the same as before. The food coloring didn’t really change the flavor, which was good. I mean, I wasn’t expecting it to taste like blood or anything, but I was glad it didn’t taste like, you know, food coloring.
I made a few more glasses, experimenting with different amounts of food coloring, just to see what looked best. Then I had my roommates to try it, without telling them what I did. They thought it was pretty cool, and they liked the dark, spooky color. They didn’t notice any difference in taste either. We ended up drinking the whole bottle, watching old horror movies, and just having a good time.
So, yeah, that was my “horror movie wine” experience. It was a fun little project, and it definitely added a bit of a spooky vibe to our movie night. If you’re looking for a way to spice up your next horror movie marathon, I’d say give it a try. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and it’s kind of a fun conversation starter.
