Ready for Launch – Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Teaser

“Whatever life throws at us, we face it together – as a family.” Marvel has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the next big MCU movie arriving this summer. It’s ready for launch starting in July in five more months from now. Another new attempt at bringing the Fantastic Four back to the big screen. On a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic Earth, the Fantastic Four must protect their home from being devoured by the cosmic being Galactus and his enigmatic herald, the Silver Surfer. From director Matt Shakman, this FF movie stars Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal / Silver Surfer, along with Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. So far, so good. This actually looks like they might’ve finally figured out the right formula to get the Fantastic Four right – and the retro vibes are pretty cool. I’m surprised to see the big guy Galactus briefly appearing in this teaser trailer – it’s really not going to be easy to send him away.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is directed by American filmmaker Matt Shakman, director of the film Cut Bank previously, along with lots of TV work including eps of “Game of Thrones”, “WandaVision”, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” most recently. The screenplay is written by Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer, Josh Friedman, Cameron Squires, Eric Pearson, & Peter Cameron. Produced by Kevin Feige for Marvel Studios. Disney will release The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters worldwide starting on July 25th, 2025 in the summer.
