Alright, so I wanted to make some cool Halloween movie posters, but I’m no artist. So, I thought I’d give those AI image generators a shot. You know, the ones everyone’s talking about.
First Steps: Picking the Tool
First things first, I needed to find an AI to use. I’ve heard of a few, so I just Googled “AI image generator” and picked one that looked easy enough. Didn’t want to spend hours figuring out some complex software.
Getting Started: My First Prompt
Okay, so I got the AI thing open, and it’s asking for a “prompt.” Basically, I gotta tell it what I want it to draw. I started simple: “Halloween movie poster.”
The first few results? Well, they were…something. Lots of weird, blurry pumpkins and wonky text. Definitely not poster-worthy.
Learning the Ropes: Refining My Prompts
I realized I needed to be way more specific. So I started playing around with the prompt, adding more details. I tried things like:
- “Vintage Halloween movie poster with a scary witch”
- “Horror movie poster, black and white, creepy house on a hill”
- “Halloween movie poster, 1980s style, slasher film”
It took a bunch of tries, but I started to get the hang of it. Adding those extra details made a huge difference. The images were still a little weird sometimes, but they were getting closer to what I wanted.

Tweaking and Editing
Some of the AIs let you tweak the images after they’re generated, changing colors or styles. I played around with those settings, too. And some of them I generated were not good, I had to make some changes.
The Final Results
After a lot of experimenting, I ended up with a few posters I was actually pretty happy with! They weren’t perfect, but they had that cool, spooky vibe I was going for. It’s amazing what these AIs can do, even if you’re not a pro designer like me.
I definitely learned that it’s all about the prompt. The more specific you are, the better the results. And don’t be afraid to try a bunch of different things! It’s kind of addictive, actually. You keep tweaking and generating until you get something that looks just right.
