21 and Over Movie Review: Is This Comedy Worth Watching?

Okay, so the other day, I was scrolling through, like, a million streaming options, and I stumbled upon “21 and Over.” I vaguely remembered the trailers from years ago, and I figured, “Why not? I need something mindless.” So, I grabbed some snacks and settled in.

First off, I grabbed the remote, fired up the TV, and started looking for something to watch. I went through Netflix, then Hulu, and finally ended up on Amazon Prime Video. That’s where I found “21 and Over.”

The movie starts with these two friends, Miller and Casey, surprising their buddy Jeff Chang on his 21st birthday. The catch? Jeff Chang has this super important med school interview the next morning. So, initially, it’s just, like, one beer. Famous last words, right?

  • Beers: Started with just one, you know, to be responsible.
  • Shots: Then, someone (probably Miller) suggested shots.
  • Bar Crawl: And somehow, they ended up on an epic bar crawl.

So, the night, of course, goes completely off the rails. It’s like one crazy thing after another. They go from a chill pregame to full-blown chaos. There’s a wild party at a sorority house, a run-in with some angry sorority girls, and Jeff Chang ends up, shall we say, very incapacitated. It’s like, all the bad choices of youth are balled in a night, lol.

I spent the next hour and a half watching them try to get Jeff Chang home and sober before his interview. It’s a predictable plot, for sure, but there are some genuinely funny moments. I mean, the scene with the buffalo? I won’t spoil it, but I definitely laughed out loud.

By the end, the movie is as I predicted. The friends, through all the messes, of course they’ve learned something about friendship and responsibility, blah, blah, blah. But hey, it was a fun, lighthearted watch. Perfect for a night when you just want to turn your brain off.

Final Thoughts

Would I watch it again? Maybe. It wasn’t a cinematic masterpiece, but it served its purpose. A few good laughs, a predictable but enjoyable storyline, and a reminder of those crazy college nights. So, I can say my experience of watching this film is pretty good!
