Best Scary Movies for Friday the 13th: Get Ready to Scream!

Okay, so it’s Friday the 13th, and I’m totally feeling the spooky vibes. I decided to make a night of it and curate the perfect scary movie marathon. Here’s how I went about it, and man, was it a fun (and terrifying) ride!

Brainstorming and Choosing the Movies

First, I brainstormed. I knew I wanted a mix of classics and maybe something newer. I also thought about what kind of scary I was in the mood for. Jump scares? Psychological thrillers? Gore? All of the above?!

  • I started with the obvious: “Friday the 13th.” Gotta have the original, right?
  • Then I thought, “What about something a little more suspenseful?” So, I added “The Silence of the Lambs.” That movie still gives me chills.
  • I was going to choose the movie called “The Shining”, But I thought it was a better choice “The Silence of the Lambs”.
  • I wanted something supernatural, too, so I picked “The Conjuring.” Based on a true story? Yikes!
  • Finally, I needed something a little more modern, so I went with “It Follows”. Heard great things about it, super creepy premise.

Setting the Mood

Movies chosen, I had to get the atmosphere right. I dimmed the lights, of course. Got some candles going – gotta have that eerie glow! I also made sure I had plenty of blankets to hide under, just in case. You know, for safety.

Snacks are Crucial

No movie marathon is complete without snacks. I’m a popcorn fanatic, so I popped a HUGE bowl.

And since it’s a special occasion, I grabbed some candy, too. Gotta have that sugar rush to keep me going through all the scares!

The Marathon Begins!

Everything set, I hit play. “Friday the 13th” started things off with a classic slasher vibe. Then, “The Silence of the Lambs” creeped me out on a whole other level. By the time “The Conjuring” rolled around, I was practically hiding behind my popcorn bowl. And “It Follows”? Let’s just say I’ll be looking over my shoulder for a while.

Overall, it was the PERFECT Friday the 13th movie night. I scared myself silly, jumped a few times, and had a blast. Highly recommend this for any horror fan! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go sleep with the lights on…
