Okay, so I’ve been meaning to dive into the world of horse movies based on true stories. I finally got around to it, and let me tell you, it was a journey!
First, I started by just, you know, Googling “best horse movies true story”. I figured that would be a good place to begin. A bunch of lists popped up, some with like 5 movies, others with 20. It was a little overwhelming.
I decided to pick a few that sounded interesting from different lists. I jotted down the names in my notebook – gotta keep track, right?
- Secretariat
- Seabiscuit
- Dreamer
- Hildago
Then I went on a hunt to find these films. I could find everyone on my ususal streaming Apps. I grabbed some snacks, settled into my comfiest chair, and hit play on the first one.
Watching “Secretariat”
Man, what a ride! I knew a bit about Secretariat’s Triple Crown win, but seeing it play out on screen was something else. I got totally sucked into the story, the struggles, the triumphs…all of it. I even found myself tearing up a bit at the end – don’t judge!
Next Up: “Seabiscuit”
After “Secretariat,” I moved on to “Seabiscuit.” This one was a bit different, a real underdog story. It was amazing to see how this horse, who wasn’t supposed to amount to much, became such a symbol of hope during the Great Depression. I loved the historical aspect of it.
Feeling Inspired: “Dreamer”
“Dreamer” was next. I picked this since a friend had told me to give it a watch. It had a good story and I really enjoyed seeing the bond between the horse and all the characters.
Venturing with: “Hildago”
My final watch was “Hildago”. I really enjoyed this film the most and it had the most unexpected scenes in it that kept me on my toes.
Honestly, after watching all these, I feel like I’ve run a marathon myself! It’s incredible to see these true stories brought to life, and it really makes you appreciate the bond between humans and horses. It’s safe to say, the journey was amazing.
