Okay, so today I decided to dive into the Yellow Springs Film Festival. I’d heard about it being this cool, independent film thing, and I wanted to see what it was all about. First, I went to check for information about it, but found nothing. So I decided to make an in-person visit.
I started out by trying to get some basic info. You know, dates, location, the kind of films they show. Turns out, I’m pretty close, and the festival is very much focused on independent filmmakers, which is awesome. It’s all about giving a platform to voices that might not get heard otherwise, to show there films to others.
Getting the Lay of the Land
I spent some time just exploring the film festival. Because all of the movies are from new filmmakers, and also I don’t need to buy tickets in advance. So I planned to see a few movies there.
The Actual Experience
Finally, it was time to attend the festival. I decided to go on the saturday. Met several moviegoers and filmmakers, and chatted with them, that’s nice.

- Meeting People:I chatted with a few filmmakers. It was cool to hear about their process and what inspired them.
- Overall Impression:The Yellow Springs Film Festival seemed like a great place to discover new talent and get a feel for the independent film scene.
It’s definitely a place I’d check out again if I wanted to experience something different from the usual Hollywood blockbusters.
