From Jennifer Lawrence, Adele and Riley Keough to buzzy Oscar winner Mikey Madison and The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, the impressive client roster of Hollywood fashion stylist Jamie Mizrahi speaks for her talents. Now, the mother of two has teamed up with Los Angeles-based footwear brand Toms on a reinvention of the label’s signature Alpargata slip-on, which debuted in 2006.
Now available online and in stores at Nordstrom and toms.com, the limited-edition Toms x Jamie Mizrahi shoe is reimagined in five shades of luxurious suede (brown, black, purple, cobalt and red). The pairs come in women’s, men’s and kids sizing ($60 to $100), and dust bags and sock liners are printed with a mash-up of artwork uniquely created by Mizrahi’s two young sons, Yale and Cy.
“Alpargatas are the style of Toms I’ve always worn since the inception of the company,” Mizrahi tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I remember going to the first store in Venice and then when they did a collaboration with The Row in 2011. I love what the brand stands for and how they were the first to do the one-for-one give-back model. They are an inclusive community brand, which is true to my ethos, so it felt like an organic fit. And my kids can put the shoes on themselves, which is always an exciting thing, when I don’t need to help them get dressed in the morning!”

Beyond dressing up the shoe in suede for the first time, Mizrahi says she also tweaked the silhouette. “We made the design a little more bulky, as currently I’m gravitating towards a thicker shoe, and something a little more substantial works for men and women,” she says, adding that she pairs her own with skirts, dresses, jeans and sweatpants and has already worn the back of one pair down to slip into like slides.
In celebration of the collaboration’s launch (when a donation was made to L.A.-based nonprofit Baby2Baby to benefit children in need), we asked Mizrahi to share what she styled her Toms with for the campaign, key items in her styling kit and travel hacks.
