Could Euphoria get even more unhinged?
Well, that’s what one of it’s stars, Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie, is saying. In a recent interview with Empire magazine, the actress, who’s currently filming the show, explained why she loves playing her character and teased what fans can expect from HBO‘s highly anticipated third season.
“I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear. She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well,” Sweeney said. “It’s so much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is. Sam [Levinson] is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in.’ And this season is unhinged.”
When asked if this season is more unhinged, the Anyone but You star confirmed and replied, “Yes,” with a laugh.
The show’s second season premiered in early 2022, and audiences have eagerly been waiting for more of its character’s stories. Notably, the delay was due to several reasons such as strikes and creative conflicts between Sam Levinson, the creator, and its star, Zendaya.

Season three’s storyline will follow a five-year time jump, so the characters won’t be in high school anymore. New additions to the cast include Sharon Stone, Lucy Punch, Rosalía, Asante Blackk, Kadeem Hardison and Marshawn Lynch. In addition to Sweeney, returning castmembers are Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Colman Domingo, Maude Apatow and Eric Dane.
Euphoria season three is expected to release next year.
