You know, those scary movies they make nowadays, they got some real strange stuff in ’em. Them ghosties and beasties, they ain’t like the ones we used to hear about. But one thing’s for sure, the gals in them flicks, they dress up real peculiar. Let’s talk about them horror movie costumes for the ladies, shall we?
First off, there’s this thing with the white dresses. Seems like every gal in a scary movie wears a long, flowy white dress. Like, don’t they ever get dirty? And half the time, the dress is all torn up and muddy. I mean, who goes runnin’ through the woods in a nice white dress? Makes no sense to me.
What about all that makeup?
- Them gals paint their faces all white, like a ghost. And the eyes, oh my, black as coal around the eyes. Looks like they been punched!
- And then there’s the lipstick, all dark and smeared. Makes ’em look like they ate berries and forgot to wipe their mouths.
Don’t even get me started on the hair. All tangled and messy, like they ain’t seen a comb in weeks. Is that supposed to be scary? Just looks like they need a good wash and brush, if you ask me.
Then there’s the blood. Fake blood, mind you. But they splatter it all over them white dresses. Why ruin a perfectly good dress, I say? And the wounds, all them cuts and gashes, they look real enough, but they ain’t. Just a bunch of makeup and tricks. Foolin’ folks, that’s what it is.
Some of them costumes, they got these pointy things. Like, horns or spikes. What’s the point of that? You gonna poke somebody’s eye out with them things? And the masks, some of them masks are just plain creepy. Hidin’ their faces, like they ashamed of somethin’. Or maybe they just ugly, who knows?
I seen some of them gals wearin’ these old-fashioned clothes. Like, from way back when. Dresses with ruffles and lace, and them funny hats. Makes ’em look like they stepped outta a picture book. Not scary, just old-timey. And some of them dresses, they barely cover anythin’. Showin’ more skin than a plucked chicken. Is that supposed to scare folks? Seems more like they tryin’ to get attention, if you ask me.
Then there’s them shoes. High heels, mostly. How they runnin’ away from the monster in them things? I’d break my neck in a minute. And some of them boots, big and clunky, like somethin’ a soldier would wear. Makes no sense to me.
So, there you have it. My take on them horror movie costumes for the gals. Mostly just silly, if you ask me. But folks seem to like it, so what do I know? I’m just an old woman, set in my ways.
