Alright, so, you wanna know about this “Dory” movie, huh? I seen it with the grandkids, and lemme tell ya, it’s somethin’ else. Not like them shoot-em-up bang-bang things they watch nowadays. This one’s got heart, ya know?

It’s about this fish, Dory. She’s a blue tang, real pretty, but, bless her heart, she can’t remember nothin’. Like, five minutes later, she forgets what she was just doin’. Reminds me of old Mrs. Higgins down the road, always misplacin’ her spectacles.

  • Anyway, Dory, she remembers a little bit about her family.
  • And she decides she gotta go find ’em. That’s the whole movie, her swimmin’ around, tryin’ to remember where her folks are.

Now, in the first movie, she helped that clownfish, Nemo, find his dad. This time, it’s her turn. And it ain’t easy, let me tell ya. The ocean’s a big place, lots of scary critters and currents and whatnot.

She meets all sorts of characters along the way. There’s this octopus, Hank, grumpy fella, but he helps her out. And these sea lions, always barkin’ and squabblin’. And of course, Nemo and his dad, Marlin, they’re with her too. They’re good friends, even if Marlin gets a little flustered sometimes. He’s a worrier, that one.

The movie’s real pretty to look at. All them fish, swimmin’ in schools, all different colors. Makes you wanna go jump in the ocean yourself, if it weren’t so darn cold and full of jellyfish. And the animation, it’s top-notch. Them Pixar folks, they know what they’re doin’. They make them fish look real enough to eat, though I wouldn’t recommend it.

But it ain’t just pretty pictures, ya know? This movie’s got a good message. It teaches ya about family, and how important it is to stick together, even when things get tough. And it shows ya that even if someone’s a little different, like Dory with her forgetfulness, they can still do amazing things. Reminds me of my grandson, little Timmy. He’s got a stutter, but he’s the smartest kid in his class.

Now, some folks say it ain’t as good as the first movie, the “Nemo” one. And maybe it ain’t. But it’s still a darn good movie in its own right. It made me laugh, it made me cry a little bit, and it made me think. And that’s more than I can say for most of them movies they make nowadays.

So, would I recommend it? You betcha. It’s a good family movie, somethin’ you can watch with the kids and the grandkids. It’s funny, it’s heartwarming, and it’s got a good message. Just don’t expect it to be some action-packed thriller. This one’s about heart, remember? Just like that little blue fish, Dory. She might not remember much, but she’s got a big heart, and that’s what matters.

And that Ellen DeGeneres, the one who does Dory’s voice, she’s just a hoot. Makes that fish come alive, ya know? You can just hear the kindness and the confusion in her voice. She done a real good job, that Ellen.

So, go on, watch “Finding Dory.” You won’t regret it. And if you do, well, you can just come on back here and tell me all about it. I’ll be waitin’ with a cup of tea and some cookies. Just don’t expect me to remember your name. I’m gettin’ on in years, ya know, and my memory ain’t what it used to be. Maybe I got a little bit of Dory in me after all.
