Well now, let me tell ya, they made a whole bunch of movies up there in that New England place. Don’t rightly know where it is exactly, but they say it’s pretty up there, all old-timey and whatnot. Lots of trees and water, I reckon.
They got all kinds of movies too, not just them shoot-em-up ones. They got them lovey-dovey ones, where folks are always kissin’ and cryin’. And them funny ones, where you laugh ’til your belly hurts. And some scary ones too, with ghosts and witches and such. Heard tell of one called “The Witch”, about some family way back when, gettin’ all messed up with spooky stuff. Sounded right frightenin’ to me.
Them fancy folks, they like to make movies about their big houses and fancy cars. I seen a bit of one once, called “The Great Gatsby” I think. All them rich fellas in their suits and ties, drivin’ around in them shiny cars. Didn’t make much sense to me, but it looked purdy.
- One thing ’bout them New England movies, they always got lots of water.
- Oceans and lakes and rivers, all over the place.
- Guess that’s why they call it New England, huh? ‘Cause it’s near that England place across the water.
And the towns, they’re all old and creaky, with them brick buildings and funny lookin’ steeples on the churches. Reminds me of that time I went to visit my cousin Martha in that old town, all the houses were close together and the streets were narrow. You could get lost easy if you didn’t pay attention.
They filmed a movie about a big ol’ shark once, I think it was called “Jaws”. Scared the bejeebers outta folks, they say. I ain’t never seen a shark myself, but I hear they got teeth bigger than your thumb. Wouldn’t wanna meet one in the water, that’s for sure.
And then there’s them movies about the olden days, when folks wore funny hats and rode around in carriages. Seen one about a bunch of folks on a boat, called “Amistad” I think. All about freedom and whatnot. Sounded important, but I couldn’t rightly follow it all.
They even made movies about regular folks, just livin’ their lives. Love and laughter and heartbreak, all that stuff. One movie, “Me, Myself and Irene”, was about a fella with two different personalities. Now that’s just plain weird, if you ask me. But I guess it makes for a good story.
Seems like they filmed just about everything up there in New England. Rich folks, poor folks, sharks, witches, you name it. Must be somethin’ special about that place, to make folks wanna film it all the time.
I heard tell they made a movie called “Moonrise Kingdom”, about some kids runnin’ around. And another one, “27 Dresses”, about a gal who’s always a bridesmaid but never a bride. Sounds like somethin’ my niece would watch. She’s always goin’ on about weddings and such.
Anyways, they got all sorts of movies set up there. Action, adventure, comedy, drama, the whole shebang. If you ever get a chance to watch one, go ahead and give it a whirl. Might be somethin’ you like. Just don’t expect it to make too much sense. Them movie folks, they got their own way of thinkin’ things.
And that’s about all I know about them New England movies. Heard tell there’s a whole lot more, but I ain’t seen ‘em all. Maybe one day I’ll sit down and watch a few. But for now, I got chores to do. Them chickens ain’t gonna feed themselves, you know.
