Well, let me tell ya, they’re makin’ some movies in Cincinnati this year, 2024. I heard tell there’s a bunch of ’em comin’ to town. Don’t know much about movies myself, but folks are all a-buzz about it.
Movies, Movies Everywhere
Now, they say one of these movies is called “The Mastermind”. Heard it’s got that fella, Josh O’Connor, in it. You know, the one from… uh… somethin’ or other. He was in some shows, they tell me. Fancy fella, I reckon. And that girl, Alana Haim, she’s in it too. From that singing group, the Haim somethin’s. My granddaughter listens to ’em, all that noisy music.
They’re filmin’ it right here in Ohio, mostly in Cincinnati they say. Even saw some pictures of ’em makin’ it downtown. All them old-timey cars and folks dressed up funny. Reminded me of when I was a young’un, kinda. They even made Hamilton look like the old days, I heard. Imagine that! Hamilton all spiffed up and lookin’ important.
- They say this “Mastermind” movie is about the Vietnam War time. That was a long time ago, before you were even born, I betcha. Lots of fightin’ and such. Not my cup of tea, all that violence. But folks seem to like it.
- And they was filmin’ near City Hall, too. All them cameras and lights and people runnin’ around. Must be a real ruckus. Don’t know how folks get anythin’ done with all that goin’ on.
More Movies Coming
Then there’s this other fella, David Gordon Green, he’s makin’ a movie too. They filmed it on some farm in Ohio. Four young brothers, I heard. Farmin’ ain’t easy, let me tell ya. Hope they showed the real work, not just the pretty parts.
And that Kelly Reichardt, she’s makin’ a movie too. Don’t know what it’s about, but they say she’s good. Guess we’ll see, won’t we?
Money for Movies
Now, the governor, Mike DeWine, he’s givin’ out money for these movies. Tax credits, they call ‘em. Millions of dollars! That’s a lot of money, I tell ya. Hope it brings some good to our state. Jobs and such. Maybe they’ll even hire some local folks to be in the movies. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? Seein’ your neighbor on the big screen!
Filming All Over
So, they’re filmin’ all over Cincinnati, seems like. Downtown, out in the country… It’s a big to-do. All these movie folks comin’ in, spendin’ money, makin’ a fuss. It’s excitin’ for some, I guess. Me, I just hope they don’t cause too much trouble. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll even watch one of these movies when they come out. See what all the fuss is about.
It’s a Busy Year
Yep, 2024 is a busy year for movies in Cincinnati. Lots of filmin’ goin’ on. Who knows, maybe next year there’ll be even more. Maybe they’ll even make a movie about me! Now, wouldn’t that be somethin’? An old lady like me on the silver screen. Heh, I can dream, can’t I? Anyway, that’s the news from here. Movies, movies, everywhere you look.
