Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about them horror movie jewelry. You know, the kind them young folks like to wear nowadays. I seen some pictures online, and let me tell you, some of it’s right spooky, and some of it’s just plain weird.

First off, them horror movies, they always got them dark colors. Lots of black, like night time, and blue, like when you get cold and shiverin’. And green, like somethin’ rotten, and red, well, that’s like blood, ain’t it? So, it ain’t no surprise that them jewelry makers, they use them colors too.

  • Black stones, they look like little pieces of the night.
  • Blue ones, they like frozen tears or somethin’.
  • Green ones, they make me think of somethin’ slimy and crawlin’.
  • Red ones, well, I don’t need to tell ya what them red ones look like, do I?

I seen some necklaces with little skulls on ‘em. Now, I ain’t never seen a real skull, thank the Lord, but them little things, they still give me the creeps. And them rings, with spiders and bats and such. Spiders, I can’t stand ‘em. Always crawlin’ around where you don’t want ‘em. And bats, they fly around at night, makin’ them screeches. Who wants that on their finger?

Some of this stuff, it’s like they took them horror movie posters and shrunk ‘em down. You know, them DVD covers with the scary faces and the sharp knives. They got them little pictures on pendants and earrings. It’s like carryin’ a bad dream around your neck.

Now, I heard tell there’s some fancy places sellin’ this stuff. Places with big names, like “Brilliant Earth,” they say. Sound fancy, don’t it? But I bet they charge an arm and a leg for a little skull ring. Me? I’d rather spend my money on somethin’ useful, like a good pair of shoes or a warm blanket.

But them young folks, they like what they like. And if they want to wear horror movie jewelry, well, that’s their business. I just hope they don’t scare themselves too much. And I sure hope they ain’t wearin’ that stuff around me at night. I might just take my broom to it.

I also heard you can get this kind of stuff on eBay. Now, eBay, that’s where you find all sorts of things, ain’t it? Old furniture, clothes, and now, scary jewelry. They say you can get it shipped right to your door, free shippin’ sometimes they say. And if you don’t like it, they got that money-back thing, a guarantee, they call it. But me, I ain’t trustin’ it. What if they send me somethin’ cursed? No sir, I’ll stick to my own shiny things, like my grandma’s old brooch. That’s pretty enough for me.

Speaking of pretty, some of this horror jewelry ain’t half bad, if you look at it right. Some of it’s got them shiny stones, like diamonds and rubies, but they’re shaped like bats or skulls or somethin’. It’s kinda like puttin’ lipstick on a pig, if you ask me. Prettyin’ up somethin’ that’s meant to be scary. But I guess that’s the point, ain’t it?

And the custom stuff, that’s even crazier. Seems like folks can get anythin’ they want made into jewelry these days. Want a necklace with your favorite movie monster’s face on it? They can do it. Want earrings shaped like bloody knives? They got ya covered. It’s a wild world out there, I tell ya.

So, that’s what I know about horror movie jewelry. It’s spooky, it’s weird, it’s sometimes pretty, and it’s definitely not for me. But if you like that sort of thing, well, go ahead and wear it. Just don’t come knockin’ on my door after dark with that stuff on, you hear?

Why are people buying these horror movie jewelry? Now, I ain’t got no degree in head shrinkin’ or nothin’, but I reckon it’s ’cause folks like to be scared, but only a little bit. It’s like ridin’ a rollercoaster. You know it’s gonna be scary, but you also know you’re gonna be alright in the end. And wearin’ this scary jewelry, maybe it makes folks feel a little bit tough, a little bit rebellious. Like they ain’t afraid of nothin’, even if they’re shakin’ in their boots.

Anyway, that’s all I got to say about it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make myself a nice cup of tea. And maybe say a little prayer to keep them movie monsters away.
