Alright, so ya wanna hear about this Journey to Bethlehem movie, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t your grandma’s Sunday school story, that’s for sure. It’s a musical, ya know, like them singin’ and dancin’ pictures.

First off, don’t go thinkin’ this is straight outta the Bible. They done took some liberties, ya hear? Like, Mary proposin’ to Joseph? And them Wise Men, they were kinda like clowns, crackin’ jokes and all. Wasn’t quite how I remember hearin’ it in church, but hey, it’s a movie, right? It’s supposed to be fun, I guess.

Now, if you got young’uns, this might be a good way to get ‘em thinkin’ ‘bout Jesus and Christmas, instead of just Santa Claus and all them reindeer and fancy presents. These days, kids think Christmas is all about them Disney movies and whatnot. Some of them movies, they got sneaky stuff in ‘em, ya know? So, maybe this movie’s a good change of pace. teaches them a little something about where Christmas really came from, ya know? It’s about Jesus bein’ born, not just about gettin’ stuff.

I gotta say, the music was pretty good. I was kinda worried it’d be all cheesy and sappy, but it wasn’t so bad. There’s this fella, Antonio somethin’-somethin’, he sings a real nice song. And that Joel Smallbone, he was in it too! I love them For King and Country fellas. That was a nice surprise, seeing him in a movie. He’s a good singer, that one.

The movie, it tells ya all about how Jesus was born. Mary and Joseph, they had to go to Bethlehem, and there wasn’t no room at the inn, ya know the story. They had to put the baby Jesus in a manger, with all the animals. It’s a nice story, a sweet story. Makes ya think about what Christmas is really about. But like I said, don’t expect it to be exactly like the Bible. They changed some things, made it more… well, more like a movie, I guess.

  • They sing and dance a lot
  • The Wise Men are funny
  • Mary proposes to Joseph

So, if you’re lookin’ for a movie that’s fun and has some good music, and you don’t mind a little bit of… improvisin’ on the Bible story, then this Journey to Bethlehem movie might be just the ticket. It’s a good family movie, somethin’ you can watch with your kids and grandkids. Just don’t go tellin’ the preacher I said it was exactly like the Bible, ya hear?

I mean, at the end of the day, it’s a movie, right? It ain’t supposed to be a sermon. It’s entertainment. And as entertainment, it’s pretty good. It’s got music, it’s got laughs, it’s got a heartwarming story. What more could ya want in a Christmas movie? It sure beats watchin’ them cartoons all day long.

But if you want a movie that’s stickin’ real close to the Bible, then you might wanna look somewhere else. This ain’t that kinda movie. It takes the story and, well, it kinda jazzes it up a bit. Makes it more modern, I guess. Some folks might not like that, but I didn’t mind it too much. It’s a different way of lookin’ at the story, ya know?

And listen, I ain’t no movie critic or nothin’. I’m just tellin’ ya what I thought. I liked the music, I liked the actors, and I liked the overall message. It’s a movie about love, and faith, and hope. And that’s somethin’ we could all use a little more of these days. So go on, give it a watch. You might just like it. And if ya don’t, well, ya can always turn it off.
