Hey there, y’all! Let’s yak about somethin’ called “movies u,” whatever that means. I ain’t no fancy city slicker, so I’ll just tell ya what I know, the plain and simple way.
Now, I heard tell there’s this thing called YouTube, and they got movies on it. Yeah, movies! Just like them picture shows they used to have in town, but now you can watch ’em right on that little box in your livin’ room, or even on that phone thingy everyone’s always starin’ at. YouTube Movies, they call it. Sounds fancy, but it’s just movies, same as always. They got all sorts, too, from them big-shot Hollywood ones to them little ones nobody ever heard of.
And get this, some of them movies on YouTube, they’re free! Can ya believe it? Free movies! Back in my day, you had to pay a whole nickel to see a picture show, and sometimes even more! Now, they just givin’ ’em away. Well, some of ’em anyway. I reckon they figure if you watch the free ones, you might wanna pay for the fancy new ones later. That’s how they get ya, them city folks, always thinkin’ up ways to get your money.
- They got new movies.
- They got old movies.
- Heck, they probably even got movies about cows, for all I know!
So, if you’re bored, and you ain’t got nothin’ better to do, you can go watch yourself a movie on YouTube. They say you can find all sorts of stuff on there, even TV shows. But I ain’t got time for that TV stuff, too much drama for me. I like a good story, somethin’ with a happy ending, none of that sad, cryin’ stuff.
Now, somebody told me about somethin’ called “JustWatch.” Sounds like somethin’ you tell your dog, but apparently, it’s a way to find movies online. They say it helps you find what movies are on what service, like Netflix and all them other things. I don’t know nothin’ about that, I just watch what my grandkids put on for me. But if you’re one of them folks who likes to pick and choose, then maybe this JustWatch thing is for you.
And then there’s this “U” symbol they talk about. Said it means “Universal.” Like, for everybody, I guess. They say it means little kids can watch it, but you know how kids are. Sometimes they get scared by the silliest things. So, even if it’s got that “U” on it, you might wanna watch it yourself first, just to be sure. Wouldn’t want them young’uns havin’ nightmares.
I also heard folks talkin’ about somethin’ called IMDb. Said it’s a place where they rank movies, tell ya which ones are popular. Popular movies, they call ’em. I reckon that just means a whole bunch of people watched ’em. But popular don’t always mean good, ya know? Sometimes them quiet little movies, the ones nobody talks about, those are the best ones. They got heart, ya know? Somethin’ them big-budget ones don’t always have.
Anyway, all this talk about movies u, it’s just a bunch of fancy words for watchin’ picture shows. Whether you’re watchin’ ’em on YouTube, or on some other thingamajig, it’s all the same. It’s about stories, about laughin’ and cryin’ and maybe even learnin’ a thing or two. So go on, find yourself a movie, sit back, and enjoy. And don’t forget to make some popcorn! Nothin’ better than a good movie and a big bowl of popcorn, that’s what I always say.
