  1. Peter Strickland is the foster child of several weird and wonderful households: Argento's, Lynch's, Greenaway's and, oddly, Leigh's (Mike, not Spike's) …and still manages to walk away an independent, fully-formed original.

  2. For the last 5 years everything I think is original, compelling, free of teen mutant assassins, ends up being A24…would anyone else have picked this up?

  3. Cool movie but lost me after about an hour. It’s very slow and frustratingly repetitive. I felt like they could have shaved a solid 40min off this movie without losing anything important. That being said it’s very well shot and stylish as hell. Heavy Argento vibes.

  4. Attention! A dramatic afliction has compromised my perfect laptop and all I can say at this time of perfection is that I once had a sleeping dream where this picture spectacle regarded my unconscious brain a place to nestle with other prints on the celluloid, with titles like 'Shining, the', 'Darko, Donnie', & 'Strangler, the Greasy'. Can you now announce the numbers of your telephone?

  5. Half of the movie is marvelous and captures the essence of classic Italian horror but for reasons beyond my comprehension around half way everything turns into a parody beyond repair.

  6. The department store where this was actually filmed in was the now defunct "Allders of Croydon". I remember shopping in there with my parents as a child and it was massive with so many different departments. In the film the lady behind the counter removes the customer's change from an old airpod system tube that used to allow the cashier's to send the tills takings to the cash office within this vast store. Had exactly the same system installed at Arding & Hobbs (later part of Allders) in Clapham Junction too, where I once worked!!

  7. Another amazing piece of cinema to add to the already stellar sideways look on life A24 collection.
Personally it never put a foot wrong and i enjoyed the nods to Suspiria, Halloween 3s tv commercial and even Whistle and ill come.
I was left with more questions than answers…and im very very happy with that after this hysterical ride.
