Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this “Birthday Boy” Telugu movie, the one they’re all yappin’ about. Don’t expect no fancy talk from me, I’m just gonna tell it like it is, like I saw it.
So, this “Birthday Boy”, they say it’s a thriller. You know, the kind that’s supposed to keep ya on the edge of your seat? Well, kinda did, kinda didn’t. It’s about this party, see? And things go real bad, real fast. Like, real messed up. They say it’s based on somethin’ that actually happened, which is kinda spooky if ya think about it. Makes ya wonder what kinda folks are out there, you know?
Now, the actors… most of ’em are new faces, except for that Ravi Krishna fella. He was in that “Virupaksha” movie, I think. Did a decent job, I guess. The rest of ’em, they tried hard, ya gotta give ’em that. They weren’t too bad, considering. Nobody really stood out, though, like nobody made me go “wow, that’s somethin’ special.” They just… acted, ya know?
- The story, that’s where it gets a bit iffy.
- They say it’s supposed to be all twisty and turny, keep ya guessin’.
- But, honest to goodness, I kinda figured out some stuff pretty early on.
Maybe I’m just too old for these things, or maybe it wasn’t as clever as they thought. It felt… kinda slow in parts, too. Like they were stretchin’ things out, makin’ it longer than it needed to be. I kept waitin’ for somethin’ big to happen, and sometimes it did, sometimes it didn’t.
The director, this fella named Whisky, I heard. That’s a funny name, ain’t it? Well, he did alright, I suppose. The movie looked okay, nothin’ fancy, but not cheap either. He did a good job with the scary parts, made me jump a few times, I ain’t gonna lie. But the story, like I said, that’s where it coulda been better. It needed more… I don’t know… more somethin’. More excitement, maybe? More surprises?
They had this girl, Shravanthi Anand, she played this character named Shwetha. She was alright, I guess. Did what she had to do. Honestly, most of the characters, they were just… there. I didn’t really connect with any of ’em, didn’t really care what happened to ’em, if ya know what I mean. Maybe that’s the problem. If you don’t care about the people, then you don’t care about the story, right?
There were these other fellas too, Sameer Malla, Mani Vaaka, Raja Ashok Vallamsetty, Sai Arun… Lots of names, hard to keep track. They all did their part, I guess. Like I said, nobody was terrible, but nobody was great either. It was just… average. Not the worst movie I ever seen, but definitely not the best.
So, would I recommend this “Birthday Boy” movie? Eh, maybe. If you ain’t got nothin’ better to do, and you like those thriller things, then give it a shot. But don’t expect too much, ya hear? It’s one of them movies you watch, then you forget about it a week later. It ain’t gonna change your life, that’s for sure. But it might give ya a few jumps, and maybe that’s enough for some folks.
Overall, it’s a decent enough movie, I reckon. Not great, not terrible, just… okay. The acting is fine, the story is a bit weak, but the scary parts are done well. If you’re lookin’ for a way to kill a couple of hours, you could do worse. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ special, somethin’ that’ll stick with ya, then you might wanna look elsewhere. That’s just my two cents, take it or leave it. I’m just tellin’ ya like it is, the way I saw it. No fancy words, no big ideas, just plain and simple truth.
