Full Trailer for Korean Afterlife Series ‘Light Shop’ from Disney+/Hulu

“How did you find your way here?” Hulu has revealed an official US trailer for an intriguing new Korean streaming series called Light Shop, which is made for Disney+ in South Korea as one of their mainstream offerings in that country. The series is an adaptation of Kang Full’s webtoon also called Lamp Shop, which is turned into Light Shop or Lightshop Keeper for its worldwide debut. A group of strangers, each struggling to come to terms with a traumatic event in their past. Going about their lives, each individual is mysteriously drawn to a light shop that sits at the end of a seedy alleyway. Guarded by a vigilant shopkeeper, the light shop could hold the key to the strangers’ pasts, presents and futures. The full ensemble cast features Ju Ji-hoon as the owner of the shop, Park Bo-young, Kim Seol-hyun, Bae Seong-woo, Uhm Tae-goo, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Min-ha, Shin Eun-soo, and Park Hyuk-kwon. Obviously all these people are stuck in limbo and this is about them deciding whether to live on – but I’m still intrigued. So far it looks really good.

The Korean mystery horror series follows the story of a group of strangers who are all having a hard time processing a horrible experience from their past. Each of them is going about their normal lives when they are all strangely pulled to a light shop located at the end of a dubious alleyway. A cautious shopkeeper guards the light shop, which may contain the key to the strangers’ pasts, present, and futures. Light Shop, also known as 조명가게 in Korean or Lightshop Keeper, is a series created by Korean writer Kang Full, a webtoon artist known for his web comics Fool, Apartment, Timing, 26 Years, I Love You, Neighbor, Again, Every Moment of Your Life, Moving, Bridge. It’s also written by Kang Full and adapted from his own comic strip series “Light Shop”. Featuring episodes directed by Kim Hee-won. Made by Mr. Romance and Moving Pictures Co. Produced by Kim Hee-won. Disney+ will debut all 8 episodes of Kang Full’s Light Shop series streaming on Hulu in the US starting December 4th, 2024 this month. Who wants to watch this series?
