Alright, let’s talk about them movie pictures in Gallup, New Mexico. You know, the ones they show on that big screen? Yeah, them movies.
Showtimes, that’s what they call ’em. Means when them pictures start playing. Used to be, you just went to the theater and waited, but now they got all these times and whatnot. Confusin’ if you ask me.
Anyways, if you wanna see a movie in Gallup, you gotta figure out where to go. They got this place called Red Rock 10. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a place where they show movies, nothin’ more. It’s on Church Rock Street. Don’t ask me the number, I ain’t good with numbers. You can probably find it, though. Everybody knows where it is. It’s the one with the big ol’ sign, can’t miss it.
Now, what kinda movies they got? Well, that changes all the time. One day it’s cowboys and shootin’, the next it’s some lovey-dovey stuff. Then there’s them cartoons for the young’uns. And sometimes, they got them scary ones that make you jump outta your seat. I don’t like them scary ones much, they give me the heebie-jeebies.
- Cowboy movies: Them’s the ones with the horses and the guns.
- Lovey-dovey movies: You know, the ones where they kiss a lot.
- Cartoons: For the kids. Lots of bright colors and silly noises.
- Scary movies: The ones that make you wanna hide under your blanket.
So, how do you find out what’s playin’ and when? Well, you can go down to the theater and look at the posters. They got ’em all lined up outside. Or you can ask someone. Them young folks are good with them computer things, they can probably look it up for ya. They call it Fandango or somethin’. Sounds like a dance, but it’s just a website. Or you can call the theater, they got a phone number. But good luck gettin’ someone on the line, they’re always busy.
Red Rock 10, they say they got 10 movies playin’ most days. That’s a lot of movies! I remember when they only had one screen, and you watched whatever they put up there. Now you got choices, which ain’t always a good thing, if you ask me. Too many choices just makes your head spin.
Anyways, Red Rock 10, that’s the main place to see movies in Gallup. It’s been there a long time, far as I know. Probably longer than I can remember. They say the oldest movie theater in the world has been open for over a hundred years! Can you believe that? A hundred years of folks watchin’ pictures on a big screen. That’s a lot of popcorn.
And speakin’ of popcorn, don’t forget the snacks! Movies ain’t the same without popcorn and a big ol’ soda. Though them prices they charge are somethin’ else. Highway robbery, I tell ya! But I guess it’s part of the experience. You go to the movies, you get your popcorn, you sit in the dark and watch the show. That’s how it’s always been and that’s how it should be.
So, if you’re lookin’ for movie showtimes in Gallup, New Mexico, head on down to Red Rock 10 on Church Rock Street. Or find someone with one of them fancy phones to look it up for ya. And don’t forget your money for the popcorn!
Just remember, showtimes change all the time, so what’s playin’ today might be gone tomorrow. That’s just how it is. You gotta keep up, or you’ll miss out. And nobody wants to miss out on a good movie, right?
