The H- bomb and it's set off earthquake, moving the Earth out of the asteroid's path was the stupidest and most ridiculous thing I have seen in any disaster movie. To beat that, nobody mentioned the mile, or two high tidal waves an actual, if possible 18R earthquake would set off. Other than that, it wasn't a real bad watch.

This movie desperately needed a science advisor. Gross errors. Also the earthquakes would DO NOTHING in terms of moving the Earth's position.

The soldier gets his legs blown off by a land mine and after the others see him they run like crazy towards him and manage to miss every other mine on the beach ! Very believable – NOT

Plot summary, asteroid wins. I'll edit this comment when I finish watching it. Oh, yeah, sure! Like that's possible. Move the earth out of the path of an asteroid by causing earthquakes. Lol, that's not how astrodynamics works. I mean, yes an earthquake does affect the earth's orbit, but only slightly.
