Alright, let’s talk about this “after death movie,” like them city folks call it. I saw it the other day, and lemme tell ya, it got me thinkin’. They call it a “catholic review,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, but I’ll tell ya like it is, plain and simple.
What’s it all about, this movie? Well, it’s about folks dyin’ and what happens after. You know, do you go up there, down there, or just…poof! Gone like smoke? The movie, it shows all sorts of ways people kick the bucket. Some nasty stuff, let me tell ya. Cars crashin’, planes fallin’ outta the sky, folks drownin’. They even show a leg all chopped up. Made my stomach churn a bit, it did. If you got a weak stomach, maybe close your eyes for them parts.
Now, they talk about heaven and hell and all that. Seems like when you die, you go somewhere, and God decides where you end up. Heaven sounds nice, all peaceful and happy. Hell, well, nobody wants to go there. They also talk about this “Purgatory” place, kinda like a waitin’ room, I guess. Gotta clean yourself up before you get to the good place, maybe? I don’t know, it’s all a bit confusing for an old woman like me.
This movie, it’s got a lot of that churchy stuff in it, but it ain’t like they’re thumpin’ you over the head with the Bible. They talk about God and Jesus, but it’s more about people’s stories. Folks sharin’ what they saw when they were, well, dead for a bit. Some say they saw a bright light, others saw family that had passed on. Made me wonder if my old man, bless his soul, is up there waitin’ for me.
- Lots of talk about spirits and souls.
- Some scary scenes, like accidents and hospitals.
- Good for folks who need a little hope, they say. If you’re feelin’ down in the dumps, maybe this movie can perk you up a bit.
- It’s supposed to make you think about your life and how you treat folks.
They say it’s got some “Christian influences,” but honestly, I didn’t see nothin’ too preachy. It’s more about people and their experiences. And you know what? It ain’t all doom and gloom. They even tell you to go out and do something nice for someone after you watch it. Says somethin’ about payin’ it forward. Guess that ain’t a bad idea, no matter what you believe.
Should you watch it? Well, that depends. If you’re looking for a shoot-em-up, bang-bang kind of movie, this ain’t it. It’s gonna make you think, and maybe even shed a tear or two. And like I said, some of them scenes are pretty rough. But if you’re curious about what happens after we die, or if you just need a little somethin’ to lift your spirits, then give it a go. Just don’t expect all the answers. This movie, it raises more questions than it answers, if you ask me.
I reckon nobody really knows for sure what happens when we die. We just gotta live our lives the best we can and hope for the best. That’s what I always say. Be good to folks, work hard, and try to leave the world a little better than you found it. And maybe, just maybe, there’s somethin’ nice waitin’ for us on the other side. But if you are looking for excitement and action then maybe this movie is not for you. It does have some gruesome scenes that might make you uncomfortable.
So, the bottom line? It’s a thinkin’ movie, not a doin’ movie. It’s about faith and hope and all that stuff. And it’s a little bit spooky, too. If that sounds like your cup of tea, then go ahead and watch it. But don’t say I didn’t warn ya about them gory parts. I’m tellin’ ya, some of it’ll make your hair stand on end!
One more thing. They say this movie, it’s good for folks who are feelin’ low. If you’re goin’ through a tough time, maybe this movie can give you a little bit of hope. And that’s somethin’ we all need from time to time, ain’t it?
