Alright, listen up, y’all. I’m gonna tell ya ’bout this movie, Dark Windows. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I just call it like I see it.
So, this Dark Windows thing, it’s one of them scary movies, I guess. These young’uns, they go off to some cabin in the woods. Woods are always trouble, you mark my words. Never did understand why folks go messin’ around in the woods. Bugs, snakes, and who knows what else lurkin’ out there.
Anyway, these kids, they got this friend, Ali, and somethin’ bad happens. A car crash, they say. Real sad, but then things get all weird at the funeral. This girl, Tilly, she gets the cold shoulder from Ali’s family. Don’t know why, maybe she done somethin’ wrong, maybe they just plain mean. Life’s like that sometimes, ain’t it?
- One thing led to another, all I know is they ended up in the woods.
- Cabin in the woods, always trouble.
- Something bad happened.
Now, this movie, it ain’t like them real gory ones, where there’s blood and guts all over the place. It’s more…creepy, you know? Like somethin’s watchin’ you, somethin’ you can’t quite see. Gives you the shivers, but not the stomach-churnin’ kind. Keeps ya guessin’, that’s for sure.
They say this movie is from Norway. Never been there myself, but I hear it’s got lots of woods too. Maybe that’s why they make these kinds of movies. City folks, they wouldn’t understand. They too busy rushin’ around, don’t have time to listen to the wind whisperin’ through the trees. That’s where the real stories are, in the quiet places.
The director, this Alex Heron fella, he did alright, I reckon. The movie looks good, not all blurry and shaky like some of them others. You can see what’s goin’ on, which is important, seein’ as how most of it’s dark. Dark Windows, they call it, makes sense I suppose.
Now, the story, that’s where things get a bit…I don’t know…thin, maybe? Like they coulda done more with it. It takes a while for things to get really scary, you know? And even then, it ain’t jump-out-of-your-seat scary. It’s more like a slow burn, like a fire that takes a while to catch, but when it does, it burns hot. The endin’, that’s the best part, they say. Worth waitin’ for, I guess.
So, is it a good movie? Well, it ain’t bad. It ain’t gonna make you lose your lunch, but it might make you jump a little. And it’ll definitely make you think twice about goin’ off to some lonely cabin in the woods. Specially if you got secrets, ’cause secrets always come out, one way or another.
Overall, I’d give it a…well, I don’t do numbers, but I’d say it’s a decent enough scare. Not the best I ever seen, but not the worst neither. If you like them creepy movies, the ones that make you look over your shoulder, then you might like this Dark Windows thing. Just don’t go watchin’ it alone in the dark, unless you want to be up all night with the lights on.
And one more thing, remember what your grandma used to say: stay out of the woods! There’s nothin’ but trouble out there. You better listen to your elders, we know what we’re talkin’ about. We seen things, you young’uns can’t even imagine.
That’s all I gotta say about this Dark Windows. Go see it if you want, don’t see it if you don’t. Makes no difference to me. I’m just tellin’ it like it is, plain and simple. No fancy words, no fancy nothin’. Just the truth, as I see it.
